South Africa just hosted a Cricket World Cup in which there were no security problems expect for games in Zimbabwe.......so they have that pulling for them.:mrpimp:

South Africa has 1 of the highest crime rates in the world

& 2 host football world cup is absolutely different from Cricket WC..

different in the number of fans & supporters

just compare soccer fans & Cricket fans around the world ...!

what i mean is u can get enough security for supporters in Cricket WC but in Soccer WC ,its different due 2 the large # of fans that will attend the tournament...

I'd say Egypt or Morroco. Morroco is a beautiful place as with Egypt. If the World Cup was to be brought to either one of these 2 countries, then it would be great :clap:

Uh......, USA did upset Colombia in that World Cup, and played pretty well against Brazil in the second round (Brazil by the way ended up winning the Cup). You make no sense at all.

that's a strange argument. they've been approved twice so why can't they win. also, someone could easily argue that there are terrorists of North African descent so we can't take the risk of hosting the WC there;)

Fair enough, though I should probably remind you that most matches were sold out in stadiums that could easily hold 30000-40000 spectators, so the organisation was no easy task. Not arguing with your point about the numbers though.

However, South Africa also hosted the Rugby World Cup in 1995, and apart from a slight food-poisoning incident involving the All Blacks, I don't recall any other major incidents marring the tournament, and rugby is now the third-biggest sport int he world.

Good luck to egypt as well, the only problem is see is the number of new stadiums that would have to be built. But anything is possible.

Look at Athens, 10 new venues built in 4 years, and the olympics are 4 months away.
