WE8:I Demo Feedback

for me the demo is the same as pes4
Runs the same, still sound lag for me.
Still the player baldness in long camera views.
As for players falling, it still feels the same for me, still the stupid tripping of the defender when a through ball is played.
Dont now if you can finally get carded for pulling a player.

I had a handball in my first match, vieri was heading the ball in the goal, but the ref said it was a handball, but i couldnt see the replay since they still havent fixed the replays after break.

maybe there are some litte chances but didnt notice them yet, i cant really be arsed to find out. For me its still pes4 for the online play

apart from performance improvements, they still haven't listened to the community and fixed stuff like:
a. player baldness
b. captain's armband

I mean, why bother with a referee for eye candy value when the core players' visuals have to be sacrificed?

Personally, I can't see no differences. Personally, I don't think there are any.

Might as well just stick to the Japanese product. :jap:

Ooooo! Look at Mr. pro-Japan here!!!

Pretty soon you'll end up moving there because you love it so much. Then you'll make a crappy real estate decision because of your lack of Japanese speaking skills (your own fault for patching the imported WE games rather than learning the language) and end up in one of those houses like in The Grudge and some wierd cat/kid type thing will start haunting you, make you cry and go crazy and eventually kill you and spread to the curse to everybody you previously invited to the house to play you at Winning Eleven. Then you'll start haunting people and the horrific cycle will continue. And I have to ask you, is it worth it?????

p.s. This account is purely fictional and may or may not happen. I would just like to state for the public record that at no time has Jumbo said that if he gets killed by some revenge seeking evil entity he will continue the cycle after his own untimely death.

because it is still based on the PS2 version and so is constained by it's graphic limitations and I hardly think, not seeing the armband in a wide view is the most important think to worry about? I personnaly would rather have a ref and no armband.

Without getting into a flame-war with you, let's get one thing straight - having an armband doesn't involve alot of 3d processing... far from that it's just an added DECAL or to put it in prepschool speak, texture. And a very small one. Same goes for the balding issue... heck if they can afford to have an additional 'light' patch on the heads or 2d photographers by the sideline (which is another decal) what's so hard having the hair decal 8 pixels LARGER to cover up the bald spots?

A referee on the other hand is at least another 20 POLYGONS and a 512x128 texture. You do the math.

And please, don't mix up personal opinions with facts. Not bothering you doesn't mean it doesn't bother others that play the game on > 21" displays. Many people have complained about these issues not just me. You saying it's a non-issue just hinders the evolution of the game.

surely an editor could make the armband etc visible from great distances

As my point WE8:I – is kinda hockey to compare with PES4.
I’ve feeling – passes become more precise and faster and the bad thing is that players are much better to operate with the ball :(

P.S.
It reminds me fifa 99.
Well, in fifa 99 any users can play and don’t be bothered as for football at all. Means – plug and play.

the pc-version of we8i is much better than pes4/pc, it's much smoother, the responsiveness is much better (like on ps2 now) and the different player abilities are reflected much more in the way u play: if u have a fast striker like e.g. Henry, it's much easier to run away from defenders towards the opponent's goal than it was in pes4(where such slow defenders like stam could easily stop u). other things which were changed are the opponent's AI: now the CPUs attacks are not only concentrated to the wings; the AI uses a lot of very different methods to score. another point is the weakness of strikers in pes4, which was improved in we8i: u don't lose control over ur players in collision situations and the strikers don't fall as fast as in pes4 in such situations.
just play the full version of pes4 and compare it again to we8:i-demo!

this demo is pretty good, i have PES4 for the PS2 but decided to download this demo and play it with a controller, i have to say long shots seem more realistic, beckham seems to get an amazingly realistic ammount of curl on the ball. Also fouls are now given when your oponent blatantly shoves you off the ball, just seems a bit revamped over PES, nice.

A quite significant increase in standard of gameplay for me. Dunno why but others are complaining. Commentary sucks though!:f***:
