yeah I have that feeling too, Ronaldo usually shows up for our NT in big matches.

I'm hoping for him to pull out a cracking performance :junior:

please please Holland, let's do this. Under San Marco's guidance the Oranje has been unbeatable in official competition, they always seem to grind out results one way or another; but on the flip side, they've had a poor record against an extremely creative and dangerous Portugese team.

I have a bad feeling that this one will go into penalties. :(

Exactly still unbeaten with van Basten as our coach in official games so it's time to send Portugal home, Portugal will not be able to neutralise Robben cause he's too damn fast for them just like he was too fast for the Serbia defense and the Ivorians. And even if they could do it we still have van Persie, van der Vaart, Sneijder who are all very fast too.

For me Deco is the most dangerous player for Portugal, not Figo and Ronaldo is playing like a barometer, one time he's good and the other time he's sh*te.
But Portugal squeezing Oranje, please keep publishing these kind of photos in Portugal cause that will give our players only more motivation to beat you guys if they need motivation at all cause they all are talking about revanche for two years ago. Oh and do not compare this team to the 2004 team cause that would be a big mistake and an underestimation of a much stronger Oranje right now. :boohoo:

van Basten is thinking of starting without Ruud in the first 11 but with Kuyt in his place or he is trying to throw sand in their eyes and will select Ruud at the very last minute ;)

Marco van Basten

I say 2-1 to us (van der Vaart, Robben) and for Portugal Ronaldo.
I pray to god that it's not going to be penalties again :nape:

the photo is just of a cover of a portuguese sports newspaper, don't take it so seriously. I've only posted it because I found it funny.

what do you mean with no penalties again?
anyway I'm with you on that part, penalties freakin suck...especially when the team one supports loses of course ;)

Man, I hope Portugal wins. Should be an interesting game, as neither side has looked at all like they could even reach the semi's.

miguel made Robben look pretty damn bad in Euro 2004, honestly, i don't know his evolution in the past years cause i've not been able to follow Chelsea games, but miguel can stop him, he's amazing.

yea, miguel will have a bit of trouble coz he likes to go forward a lot, but he's enough for mister arjen-let's fake same injury now-robben...i mean, robben is a hell of a player, he's been doing a great world cup, but please, he's not an entire team..and costinha-maniche-deco>>>>bommel-sneijder-cocu anytime

Miguel is in an amazing form peak. He will do a great job against Robben. Or maybe Paulo Ferreira? After all...he plays alongside Robben at Chelsea...

I'm geting nervous...and I can' stop thinking of the game, and I have to study for exams. Biatch.

yeah, like they did in 2000 and 2004 I suppose. :boohoo:
When half of our team are in their peaks i'd say we have a dam good chance to beat anyone. Take it as confidence, not arrogance.

I think it will be a tough game for both teams, I think Holland has more self-confidence, after the survival of the 'Group of Death.' Portugal had an easy group with Angola, Iran and Mexico, although Mexico isn't that bad but Angola (1-0) and Iran (2-0) weren't good games, but they won all matches. Holland didn't play good against Serbia and Montenegro and Cote d'Ivoire, but they won and that's were soccer is all about, you have to win otherwise you lose.

So I think both teams have chance to win so it's 50/50. My feeling says Holland, my thouhts say Holland, but I'm not sure, not at all.

But, my conclusion is that Holland will win the game with 2-0. The forwards are sharp, with Robben - Kuyt - van Persie (I think) and the midfield has to be Cocu - Sneijder - van Bommel. Van Bommel can neutralise Deco because he knows him (but Deco knows v. Bommel too..), Cocu is very very experienced so I don't think that's going to be a problem for Holland. The problem will be in the defence? Can young, un-experienced players like Heitinga, Mathijsen handle Pauleta and C. Ronaldo?

Both teams are very good so it's going to be a very exciting game - That's for sure!
