I think there are more fake Italians on SG than there are anywhere else in the world. I get it, you like some Italian club for no reason, does that mean you have to go down on the National Team too?

Dayyum. That's harsh.

I GUESS NO MORE WORLD CUP FOR ME. I forgot you can't cheer for any team except your own country.

What the **** is a fake fan anyway? (:/) If you like/support a team, you're its fan, if you don't you are not.

A fake fan would be someone who pretends to be an Italy fan but really isn't and talks **** to provke other users; not someone who supports them.

Yellow Card
Some great midfield matchups...plus Henry vs Canavarro...Toni+Gilardino vs French defence which I think has been pretty good lately.

I really hope this will be a classic match like euro 2000, but something tells me this will be a defensive struggle.:$

I understand that this is Zidane's last game ever, but this is also the last world cup game for many Italian stars that have been around for many WCs... Cannavaro (100th cap for Italy on Sunday) Del Pierro, Totti (Maybe.) Toni is having the best few years of his life but he is also 29 yrs old so he may not be around for 2010. Peruzzi hasn't played in this WC due to the brilliance of Buffon and the fact that he is banged up a bit but I gurantee he's not around for 2010. Materazzi will not participate in 2010. Our future is pretty much on the bench and what a mighty fine future we have. Our defensive talent will just never die. Also, how old is Zambrotta, I think he's up there as well.

we don't have the stamina to push like we did back then :$

a few days ago (during the group stage) in an interview Thuram said it's imposible to play so far up the pitch like we used to do cuz of the "age" thing.

I was going to point this out the other day... But I didn't have the balls.

It is really quite annoying with all these 'Italians' from the US

(And yes I do know there was alot of Italians that have emigrated there leading to half americans/half italians)

I am a proud Italian American. Born and raised in New York since the early 80's. My uncles, aunts and cousins were 95% born in Italy (Rome and Naples.) I am as Italian as you get in America and NO, I am not a Gotti boy although my hair is getting pretty long. All my fam came from Italy in the 60's and early 70's. I remember many dissapointments in my life following the azzuri... losing to Argentina on our ground in 90... losing to Brazil in 94... the French in 98' and 2000... S. Korea in 2002 was bad but I really wasn't expecting much from a team with tons of egoes and minimal team chemistry. I knew this team was different as they have the perfect mix of youth, talent and veteren leadership. I am a proud Italian American and love both my country and the one that is shaped like a boot.

Good for you mate, but why don't any of you Italian-Americans get behind the USA as much as you do Italia?

That's a good question and I have been asked that this month many times as well... Americans in soccer haven't really come around until 94. Before that you never ever heard of anything going on with American soccer. Honestly I didn't know we had a team in the 90 world cup until a few months ago I was watching WC tapes of 1990 and said, "Holy $hit, we had a team in Italy?" By the time we hosted the 94 world cup my heart already belonged to the Azzurri because I have been following them for more then 10 years. Also because I support Inter and always watch the Italian league on Sunday morning since I was getting spanked in my tush for bad behaivor. I support USA, but at the end my heart lies with Italy.

Here's a good example... I am also a die hard Yankee fan... Lets say a new expansion team moves to LI, am I now suppose to root for the new LI team when I have been rooting for Yankees my whole life? No!

Hope that helps a bit...
