Tom said:Grand Theft Auto would make a far better violent TV series, along the lines of The Soprano's, but more pretentious and with more humour.
Virgo said:guess I'm the only one who thinks it's totally stupid to keep making films based in videogames especially when they're mostly action games and the plot is just there as a distraction.
they also don't even tend to pick up the games with a good story, they pick the games that sold well. Max Payne has a good story... For a videogame, for a movie I agree it would a watered down version of Sin City but no one picks up the games with truly great stories like oldschool adventure games, the ones where the story was the biggest part of the game like Grim Fandango, Monkey Island, Full Throttle.
This is marketing pure and simple, and I for one won't take the bait and watch plotless crap like Doom or Resident Evil anymore, just because "I was a fan of the videogames".

Dante_1901 said:Yes it would, i agree with that. But i would prefer the GTA San Andreas type (gangs, street violence and drugs) than GTA III/Liberty City Stories type (italian mob) because it would be some kind of copy of The Soprano's.
Tom said:nah, imagine it actually set in 70's/80's Miami like Vice City, just picture the amount of fun the show could have poking humour at the stereotypical movies of the time, and throw in some really interest plots based around the political forces at the time.
Just be interesting to see a major series set in the past.
goal_machine84 said:how about Fahrenheit or Indigo Prophecy(?)....i just played the demo and it was good....but it requires lot of work.
Virgo said:One thing is to film something like Sci-Fi in a closed set, another is to close streets, get the cars and getting everyone and everything to look like the 70's.
