No they wont because like it said, in 2008 4 will have to be from the teams own academy. And 4 have to be from there own country. Great idea, Chelsea will have to start investing in youth development now. Where as man utd alreeady have that

This is good news. Hopefully the premiership youth academies will once again invest in home grown talent instead of the cheaper option of going abroad for youngsters

they should have never let it get to the state it's in now, clubs these days just don't have the same character they used to.
Maarten Stekelenburg, Nigel de Jong, John O'Brien, Johnny Heitinga, Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart, Ryan Babel, Daniël de Ridder, Anthony Obodai and Stanley Aborah are currently in the first squad and are from the Ajax academyOriginally posted by Virgo

Awful idea.
If a player isn't good enough why should he play? Just because he's english, or whereever his team comes from?

I think this is bad idea because it will just make all the youth stealing that's been going around (ahem arsenal, Man U..) even worse. Also, players will be scouted even younger and more examples of Jean Carlos will pop up.
The idea of having 4 homegrown (ie within the nation) players aint a bad idea. I just don't like the youth academy part.

Arsenal etc. to make sure their youth scouting remains strong and that they don't solve all their problems with MONEY. QUOTE]
You just contradicted yourself right there.
