Brazil has 4 and Argentina 5 WYC. Sudamericanos U-20, Argentina won 4, and I think I heard someone on the news mention Brazil having 9.

Not sure if those are the numbers but yes Brazil has more Sudamericanos than Argentina, however to my knowledge Uruguay is the one that won most of the Sudamericanos.

You guys have balls, we have skills. With your balls you won respect, with our skills we won 5 World Cups. So shhh.

No any nation doesnt get respect by having balls (scotland has balls, but little respect). <and large nations have balls but won ****> You have nearly 200 million, and the fact you havent won more is pathetic.

Respect is having a nation of 2.5 million be called one of the 6 most important football nations of all time at the 2004 by having
- 4 World championships
- 14 Copa americas
- 8 libertadores
- 6 intercontinentals
- 1 Fifa gold world cup

(and Brazil? No balls............all skill, but holy **** does having nearly 200,000,000 people help things out eh? <and incredible poverty to boot........helps the process of making players> ( ((((Give Portugual that population and they'd be running circles around you. Even spain.))))))

Brazil
- 5 world cups
- 7 Copa americas (hehe)
- 13 Libertadores (remember, near 200 million vs. 2.5 ....ehem + we didnt need 5 spots per libertadores to ensure one)
- 8 Intercontinentals (just like us)
- 1-2 confederations (is the equivalent of the fifa gold world cup of 1980)

Respect? Please, go scare all the little teams or the jaw dropped europeans who **** themselves at the sight of a yellow jersey. Bring that **** to Chile or any other band of mediocres..........not here. (this is one of the reasons I always loved being URuguayan, that I can actually walk in a room, slap brazil in the face and tell them to sit the **** down ............without them having any argument to stop me. now THAT's history/respect you cant buy. 11 years to be exact and I'm a little tired of excuses like "bad luck" or "the ref robbed us".

We needed 4 points from 3 games in which everything was to our advantage, yet we won 1. In some loopy way that means bad luck to you, to me it means lack of spirit, direction and ambition.

I don't think this is the end of the world, but I seriously doubt we'll get out of this "slump" with your mentality.

the only person to blame for that is ferrin, he had enough talent in the squad to win this tournament but seemed happy to settle for 2nd or 3rd place. and that mentality rubs off on the players also.

years ago, uruguays goal was to win the tournament and get to the world cup, now all that matters is getting to the world cup. it's really sad how low uruguay fell.

No.....tell me you just didnt compare USA and China to Brazil in soccer development/(also alligned with poverty)?

USA?.............im not even going to dignify that with a response (anyone knows that they just had a league for 10 years and are divided among 5-6 major spor..............ah..........I promised I wouldnt answer that :nape: hehe

And China? Are you..........what? Do you even know anything about China and what they've gone through in the last century? (or their history?) (trust me: qualifying for a WC was the last thing on their minds)

It's like Canada saying: "Brazil should KILL US at Hockey cause they have 200,000,000 people and we only 30 million". (I guess if it makes sense to you, then ok.)

That's what I call irony, if you didn't get it.
You've put things in a far too simple manner.
"Brazil has millions of inhabitants, therefore they should dominate even more the football scene"
c'mon, cut the crap

i dont think brasil succes has to do with is population, its just ridiculous, its more that in brasil football is a religion, cariocas are born with football in their blood , parents and grandparents , generation after generation, teaching their sons, i mean mexico has a tremendous population too and football is the most important sport and they have acomplish thruw out the years well virtually nothing hehe, plus i dont know what china's problems have to do with anything, if i know right they are a powerhouse in many sports.

tought brasil , uruguay , argentina are unique in their own style they have a same thing in common and thats passion for football, so their its were relies their succes imo.

Ah, our endless S.American discussions, I was sort of missing them...they somewhat atest big al's point anyway. For the tournament, we didn't play that well. Some credit on it probably should be given to the manager (N. Rodrigues), he seemed rather sloppy from what I saw. Regardless of that, we won it, and I'm looking forward to seeing those boys in Beijing. Well, at least part of them...

There, i just made you waste a few minutes of your life collecting all those useless data that wont change my opinion. Stop living in the past, the last thing you won of any note was the Copa America back in 1994 and that was in Uruguay whilst you had Francescoli on your squad.

I'm talking about today. I saw my country lift 2 WC trophies not to mention the rest. How old are you?

HA! As if they had a choice in the matter.
Never said they had a choice, just that they should have kept them (in a "Germany should have beaten Brazil in 2002" kind of way). But at least we wouldn't have delusions of grandeur from some people...

It was 95 actually, and that we won it with Francescoli on our squad shows you how much of an achivement it was. Not to meantion Herrera, Otero and Saralegui... :-puke:

and who did we beat in that Final (again?) :D (H)
Brazil's useless stats wont make me change the fact that we'll always be a grande even if we come in dead last for the next 5 qualfyers (like Boca in the 80s slump)
And those useless stats wont change my opinion that Brazili is basically our sons (along with France now, dont we make a cute couple? <french women are beautiful :p>)

PS- Ruben, check out what Argentina's U20 coach said about the game. So much about "having balls" eh? :nape:

TOCALLI: 'ME DECIDI A ATACAR CUANDO VI QUE URUGUAY SE QUEDO'
"Firmaba el empate"

that quote is just priceless.

I never said Argentina had balls for beating us, I said our players lacked them. The media filled their heads and they choked when everything was in our favor, -snatching failure from the clutches of glory- dramatically speaking. Any other team in our position would have qualified to the Olympic Games, and possibly have won the tournament as well.

well brasil also played with some veterans too in that copa america ( aldair, zinho , edmundo...)( but no bebeto and romario ) plus the squad consisted on pretty much new players like tulio ,savio , juninho ... ( or B team like they always send to copa america), plus you guys were playing at home, you guys had pretty much some good advantage over us. :)

No man , French women >>>>>>Brazilian women since the beginning of time.

oh and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMplz3BriAA ....you guys had an "OK" advantage here :p (but it didnt stop us (H) )

A brazilian making excuses over URUGUAY? I'd never see the day! :o

2000 tie- "The coach was too pressured"
2001- loss- "Centenario is too much of an advantage"
2004- tie (3-3)- "Kaka shouldnt have come out" (And Uruguay didnt play with an injured Recoba, Chevanton and Hornos until the 2nd half .............boo hoo )
2005- tie- (1-1)- "Its a curse!" (actually said by brazillian announcers).

What im trying to say is, youll never get this from facing Colombia, Peru, Venezuela or Mexico..............because they always never even come close to beating Brazil (what's Colombia's record with Brazil- Like 2-83?)

It seems that with the real grandes you only seem to have problems with (in s. america you only have 2 to face: us and argentina..........If it werent for us, you'd be acting cocky and tough vs. the rest of the americas like you always do without anyone to stop you (we're there to balance things out, or else s. america would just be your stomping grounds)

(((btw Big Al, im talking to the Brazilians, not you))) Is your father Brazilian?
