Its over!!!!! See you in Beijing! (for me the world cup U20 is much more important now. The olympic games are only a little important.)
I cant believe uruguai did not tie this game. The end was not even a foul where the play for the corner kick came. very unlucky (sorry, im very angry to see argentina win games like this , especially against teams who deserve to be there more, they were not the better team  . I just dont like argentina.

I cant insult our players after the way they played.............I have no comment but just an incredible finish after dominating the game.

I was saying: "Wow, so this is what it feels like to face Uruguay <us> if I was Argentinian" (it was pretty much the same deal................with Uruguay's classic last second balls out header goals that we've done throughout the ages).
Im heart broken , but especially for the guys.

At least we're in the world cup (which was the main goal)

*Sigh* no man,.....just no.

Argentina stole all this from us:
1) Gardel
2) the way to drink mate <they're copying us now>
3) Tango (at least they admit it)

but in no way are they taking our reputation as being THE "last second, balls out, classic win"......................wait a minute. They're not even. It was just you who said that.

Well....to make it clear, Uruguay is much more known about that than Argentina (its like saying: "Yeah!! England .....go Tartan Army!!!" <that's scotland btw>)

We've won that way 800,000,000 times, and not only that but so many huge/important games. (top of my head i can actually name 20-30, and I sh!t you not)

Except for Brazil (which they've beat like that ....like 1-2 times), how many times do you see Argentina defending the whole game and beating Bolivia (to say a nation) with a last second fluke header/free kick? (think the light blue confused you, i know...were similar but not THAT similar :p )

45 ******* minutes defending! Who the **** defends a 0-0 for 45 ******* minutes?!?!

i know; specially the way you guys were playing thruw out the tournament, you just cant put your eleven guys playing in your own field for 90 minutes in such in an important game,

i dont know if uruguay knew chile lost and that they only needed a tie ; but if they did, hell i guess it was a curse on them not a blessing.

are you kidding? We had 6 good chances to score in the 2nd half and dominated possession in the 2nd half until the end.

We were unlucky.

I'd use "played" very loosely, they did nothing throughout the whole second half, most likely as instructed by that lard bucket we have for a DT. More over, this team has no balls. One step away from the Olympic Games and they **** their pants against a Brazil missing half it's starting line-up. One goal down to Chile and they can't even pass straight. They face the weakest Argentinean youth team I have ever seen, needing ONLY A DRAW TO QUALIFY, and they defend the whole ******* second half...

No, sorry, I don't give a **** how well we played against Ecuador, these players deserve to be hanged, drawn, and quartered the minute their plane lands in Montevideo (if they have any sense of self preservation they'll change their flight plans and not tell anyone). What pisses me off the most is that everyone considers this an achievement, Ferrin will have his contract extended and that half the players will end up transferred to Europe (where they'll fall into obscurity).

bull****? **** that. Do you think Argentina wouldnt have done the same had they been in our situation?

Any team who doesnt need to attack ..........wont. (countless examples. Look at any major tournament).

I don't care what Argentina would've done, I care about what we should do, but always lack a DT with guts to do it. Fossati was the same, always defending a flimsy lead.

Any team that doesn't need to attack, won't, yes, when they're winning.

I sort of agree with that. If that last corner hadnt gone in, he'd be a hero. Incredible what futbol does.

Also the fact that he changed the face of the youth NT (and almost qualified last WC with NO talent except Cebolla and Albin <who's ok, cebolla is killing it in PSG though>))
But on the other hand, we could say that this team made it 3rd cause of the talent , in SPITE of what Ferrin did. Im not sure what to say really.

Final positions:
1) Brazil
2) Argentina
3) Uruguay

(just like Copa America, and just like throughout the entire history.)
What I take from this is that we have a great future and present for the NT (.........but as usual, uruguay is always stacked but loses to the mediocre teams and beats the hard teams away).
- Also I have a good feeling about this team for the youth world cup.

The future looks bright (Uruguay didnt qualify to any olympics in the 80s but look how much of a great decade that was)
- 2 Copa Americas (1 2nd place in the 3rd in a row)
- 4 Copa Libertadores (lost 1 final too)
- 3 Intercontinental/World clubs
- 2 WCs qualified well (and had a good team)

........and it all started with that team that won the bronze medal in Tokyo 79 (youth WC.......that was a stacked team).

So you never know (this team is better than the 97 team that came in 2nd at the WC).

I just feel bad the players had to be played like that. I hope they learn a lesson from this.

I agree about Fossati, never had I seen Uruguay attack so badly than with him (we sure could defend 11 men back though) .

I just hope Tabarez isnt the same.

i think sosa what was talking about is that uruguay lack balls , balls to play for the win, those balls you much often talk about, uruguay had every advantage on argentina , i dont know if you agree with me but this is why they cant seem to win something important in recent years, you need to kill your rivals when they are in the ground you also had the chance to put brasil in serious problems if you have beating them, you cant always play for that last minute goal like you said

i think brasil still needs to tie or beat colombia to be first, argentina is up in points uptil now.

and i agree you still have a team that can surprise everybody in the WC; they have done it in the past why would this be the exception, cavani was a ghost today, but he is going to give something to talk about in the WC

Wow, i imagine what Mexicos/Perus/Chiles/ must feel that instead of "recent years" it's........well ever. (well I think Peru won 1 copa america, like 80% sure).

And as for last second goal: It's bad. But the fact that we didnt win only big games..........not only qualifications....but actual tournaments. Thats the difference between us and a "lucky win or 2" that Peru/or Chile might get.

Its not worth saying had "no balls" when Argentina showed less (there was 10 minutes left and the Argentinian announcer on Fox kept screaming: "Come on guys!!!! At least pretend you want to win this thing!" (they just touched the ball around for 80 minutes before trying to attack finally)

So to say that :"we didnt kill them" (when they the "Historical killers" , have been doing that all tournament <remember the 3-3 draw last week? That was balls and Argentina crumbled in the 2nd half because of it>

It's on not to have "balls" once in awhile. But I'd be ashamed to not have it ever (IE: reason why you have teams like Mexico call this their "golden age" cause they came in 2nd at the Copa america once and got kicked out of a 2nd round game at the WC). (((Like Bolivia 94, Chile 98, Peru 78, Ecuador recently..............its always a fad before they hit reality))). (((ie: cuadro chico syndrome)))

---And today's loss wasnt lack of "balls" if it was the coach who made the players defend (just now had an interview saying he was forcing the players to stay back and defend the lead). The players have balls by nature.............what that was , was bad luck. And I accept it.
