Still feels like filler season though. If so much is going to happen in the final two episodes, might have spread it more in the rest of the season! Even in this one sort of nothing really moved forward.

Tyrion met Dany, they talked and she said she would "break the weel". Great, now when will you?
Cersei was in prison, she found out her uncle was coming but the rest was just her insulting that woman. Great, now when will you be judged/someone do something about your imprisonment?
Jon went to get wildlings, fought the Walking De...the Wild Hun...the White Walkers and found out Valyrian steel kills them too. Great, now get back to Castle Black and do...what?
The Boltons just appeared to say "we can beat him".

Nothing REALLY moved forward, and even so it was much better than the rest of the season.

I agree. It was basicslly a flash grenade. Made a grest big bang but everything remained the same.

Jirah bores me now. You're gonna die dude, do something with yourself.

I loved the fight, but it didn't advance the plot. I enjoyed the episode, like I enjoy every episode, but I watch expecting a big twist or plot advancement and I have been genrally disappointed in that regarded this season. If the fight had been accompanied by a big advance in another plot, or a revelation or a death or reappearance I would have thought it to be one of the better episodes.

You'll get plot advancement in the next episode; #9 in a season is typically the crazy one. Want me to take a stab at what happens?

I bet Cersei confesses to something and is made to do something horrible. Dany ooens the fihting pits and probably something big hapoens because its pretty much a prewedding ceremony. Arya kills someone and Bran returns. Those would be my bets. And snow does something

It's gonna be ridiculous when we see him again, supposedly 5 minutes after last season's finale, only now he's filling out his tax return.

Also, regarding plot advancement.

Ultimately, the only plot that matters in Westeros is the White Walker plot. That's the great evil that threatens the world. Cersei's trial for murder and incest is meaningless by comparison.

Meaning and interest do not necessarily coincide. Right now the character most involved with the White Walkers is Jon Snow, the blandest protagonist. Cersei isn't the best character in the show, but she's more interesting. The best characters, Bronn and Jaime, don't seem like they'll be involved in anything particularly interesting this season.

Jon Snow is the only character who has significantly changed since the first episode. He's by far the most interesting and important character in the show at this point.

Important? Definitely. Changed? Sure. Interesting? No.

He's a bland do-gooder and that has been the case from the beginning. If he were not a part of the white walkers story I doubt we'd care about him.

I much prefer watching Snow plot loves than Cersei or Bronn. Bronn is by far the worst.

Really love that Tyrion is now advising Daeny. She could be boring, but he'll make her plotlines interesting I think.

Yep. Agreed.

He may be a do gooder, but he's far from bland. He is making decisions that nobody else would be game to make. Interaction with the Wildlings is just as important as any other plot line. Not to mention the lyrics of the Night's Watch itself.

His interaction with the wildlings is bland. It's like seeing a movie about slavery in which only character treats the slaves with respect. It's boring and it's predictable.

I don't particularly like the Cersei plot but as a character she is more entertaining. Bronn isn't interesting as a character, he's just awesome.

Just awesome? How? I hate everything about that plotline, including Bronn himself

I think he's cool and he's a badass.

EDIT: He has never cared about class or honor, has been Tyrion and Jaime's sidekick, two of the better characters and is quite similar to Tyrion especially. His fight scenes are among the better in the series. He's intelligent and selfish and does whatever he feels is best.

I don't think he's overly intelligent - certainly not comparable to Tyrion in that regard. I don't hate him as a character in all honesty, just the plot line he is caught up in. It's fairly boring. Though it did mean seeing a not girl's tits, so that's a positive. I'm happy to see more and more naked Dornish girls

That's what I like about them finally meeting and what he brings to her table. A wealth of knowledge, experience, and leadership.
