What's the new storyline? Sansa and the Boltons?

Yes. In the books, Bolton marries someone that passes off as Sansa.

The Arya story is still in line, minus a few things that have yet to happen or maybe that's the part they have changed. They can still take that route, since she only just got there.

Someone that passes as Arya actually, and Ramsay is even worse to her in that scene than he is to Sansa in the show. Reek participates. Everyone is up in arms about rape on this show, but in the books Dany and fake Arya are like 12 when they are raped which is even worse. Shit like this is in the books, the only thing that is different is that it happens to Sansa instead of some anonymous girl. What the fuck do they expect on the show? To just take all of it out? Where is there any indication that the show is going to take out offensive material, they showed the Red Viper's head popped like a grape and Theon's fucking dick cut off.

The only difference is the Cersei/Jamie scene which I think everyone complained about because it makes Cersei, the most horrible fucking cartoonishly evil character in the books sympathetic for no reason and reduces one of the only good people in the books in Jamie Lannister to a rapist.

Agree with Mus and how everyone is so retardedly sensitive and SJW in the last couple years.

I mean hell, the Sansa shit makes SENSE for the show. Ramsay gets married to a "Stark"/Stark to secure the North, and then is horrible to her because Ramsay is horrible. The storylines are basically the same, except instead of Sansa's storyline dying, she actually has some part to play in the future of the show.

Okay, this makes me horrible, but I wouldn't even characterize that as a rape, at least not in that culture. She puts up no fight, it doesn't seem like he abuses her physically. It is said a lot about how brides hate their wedding night in this universe, but it's something they endure. In that respect, this scene was consensual. It's kind of amazing that the show runners didn't think Jamie/Cersei was a rape, but they think this was, I see it flipped around.

You'll find that on a war to rape basis, the US Army probably is the most respectable and non-rapey army in world history.

I don't really remember an uproar about the Drogho - Dany one at all, is it that the audience is far more widespread now? IIRC that scene was worse.

Not horrible, factual.

In the current world, that's rape. In the period that this world relates to it certainly isn't. She doesn't say no, she doesn't try to stop him. She just agreed to marry him - in those times this came with marriage.

Yep, definitely. That scene was much worse, and Dany much hotter.

Perhaps it's because the viewers feel they've watched Sansa grow up to a point. She was a girl when the show started. It might give them a more emotional attachment. That, along with the audience being more widespread, probably explains the public outcry.

Starting XI
This looks promising, hopefully. I think Colin Farrell is perfect for this role, not so sure about the other guy though. Topping the first season will be a difficult task to say the least.

"Did I just almost get raped? I think I'll have sex then."

At least they managed to get some story advancement in this one, finally since it's in episode 7 already.

What does someone who hasn't read the books think of the Dorne storyline, by the way?

Red Card - Life

Pretty much every plotline has been slow and disappointing this season. There are too many characters doing too many things across too many distant areas and each one is being advanced at snail's pace. All Snow did was trod off from the wall, and we already knew he was going to do it.

oh Shit!! There it is, the one scene I have been waiting for, Cersei's plan come back and bite her in the ass. Really had me jumping for joy on that scene.

Also, looks like another move that has yet to happen in the books, comes to life in the show, and I'm happy to see it.

Happy to see Cersei locked up too, but to be honest I hate this whole nut case religion thing. It just gets in the road of the greater plot in my eyes. I find it frustrating and taking away from the politics playing out between the different parties - rather than adding to it.

Agree with Az that this series hasn't been great, and a large part of that I think is this religion crap, and also because I think they're trying too hard to build to a big season finale.

I also think it's no coincidence that the show has started struggling much more since it essentially caught the books and had to start doing things its own way.

Not to mention that their was really not much action on the last published book. The only story line that really had my interest was the Cersei/religion one. There are two more, but those seem to have been omitted from the show and taken a different route.

It's not taking away from the greater plot. It's Cersei's downfall. She thought she could manipulate everyone in the world to do her bidding, so she armed some religious fanatics and then allowed them to start arresting nobility. Any rational person in her position had to know the eventual outcome, but Cersei is stupid. Unfortunately, that point has not been hammered home as much as it should have been on the show in their efforts to make her sympathetic.

And agree with MZ, I was actually a little disappointed that Victarion has been omitted entirely, but that would just be one more storyline to keep track of. Obviously the two big things from this season seem to be Cersei's downfall, and the attack on Winterfell. Don't believe the attack on Winterfell has been written in the books yet, but I quit just a little ways into A Dance With Dragons.

Yeah, I got that. But I felt it dragged on way too long and it wasn't a very interesting plot line - at least not to me.

Will be interesting to see how John Snow is handled compared to the books

If they catch up, can they have a "sideshow" season, or half a season - comprised mainly of victarion and other omitted parts? Or is that not possible

Well F*CK!! Last nights episode pretty much makes up for the rest of the season. They could have ended the season right there and I would have been left satisfied. This was totally unexpected and I think this is one episode I'm going to watch a few more times.

just.. wow!!!
