Of course you can't blame the guy. How was he to know how much would change at Arsenal in less than a year, at the time he signed his last contract. He aint getting any younger and I can understand that he wants to win something more before his time is up.
If the status quo at the club could have been maintained ( in the boardroom), I dare say he would not be leaving now. With the departure of Dein and the impending departure of Wenger, the future of Arsenal is somewhat unsure in his eyes, and he cannot afford to take the risk that everything will be alright there, when it could quite easily get a lot worse before it gets better.
When he signed his last contract, he was adamant that for him to sign, Arsenal needed to assure him that they were willing to bring some experienced players into the club . He knew that he couldn't afford to hang about any longer while the young signings that Wenger had brought to Arsenal gained experience and matured. Wenger and Dein gave him that assurance at the time that he signed. Neither of them could forsee the recent events at the club that has caused such turmoil.
Non Arsenal fans have had a laugh over the whole saga. From Dein leaving, Henry leaving and the word that Wenger is not gonna sign another contract at Arsenal. I guess that is to be expected. Lets face it, everyone does it to everyone else at one time or another.
The truth is that Henry will be missed by the gooners and now everyone's had a laugh (and got nasty), I think we just need to cool it a bit because I for one, as much as I do not like Arsenal, do appreciate the sublime skills that Henry has entertained us all with over the years. Most of the time he has been a joy to watch as a player, and I think all fans of the EPL recognise that.
I know how I would feel if our club captain just upped and left. I know I would feel like s.h.it. I can't bring myself to rub salt into the Arsenal wound at all. For Arsenal fans this is painful.
