Of course you can't blame the guy. How was he to know how much would change at Arsenal in less than a year, at the time he signed his last contract. He aint getting any younger and I can understand that he wants to win something more before his time is up.

If the status quo at the club could have been maintained ( in the boardroom), I dare say he would not be leaving now. With the departure of Dein and the impending departure of Wenger, the future of Arsenal is somewhat unsure in his eyes, and he cannot afford to take the risk that everything will be alright there, when it could quite easily get a lot worse before it gets better.

When he signed his last contract, he was adamant that for him to sign, Arsenal needed to assure him that they were willing to bring some experienced players into the club . He knew that he couldn't afford to hang about any longer while the young signings that Wenger had brought to Arsenal gained experience and matured. Wenger and Dein gave him that assurance at the time that he signed. Neither of them could forsee the recent events at the club that has caused such turmoil.

Non Arsenal fans have had a laugh over the whole saga. From Dein leaving, Henry leaving and the word that Wenger is not gonna sign another contract at Arsenal. I guess that is to be expected. Lets face it, everyone does it to everyone else at one time or another.

The truth is that Henry will be missed by the gooners and now everyone's had a laugh (and got nasty), I think we just need to cool it a bit because I for one, as much as I do not like Arsenal, do appreciate the sublime skills that Henry has entertained us all with over the years. Most of the time he has been a joy to watch as a player, and I think all fans of the EPL recognise that.

I know how I would feel if our club captain just upped and left. I know I would feel like s.h.it. I can't bring myself to rub salt into the Arsenal wound at all. For Arsenal fans this is painful.

Don't forget that there is also a possible American takeover. I don't think that the board can hold that off for long.

Henry going to Barca and Suazo ending up at Inter gotta mean that Eto'o will end up in Milan.

I can't wait for that to happen. Mass exodus.
Arsenal slipping to mid-table. Thrashed by United and Sunderland. Fantastic.

Arsenal do better against United without Henry. When Arsenal won the league at Old Trafford it was with an attack led by Wiltord and Super Franny.

And you guys are acting like we had him last year, he was hurt 80% of the time, and Adebayor was basically the only option up front, yet we still finished 4th and beat United and Liverpool more that once.

I bet Adebayor gets 20 next year.

Makes me wonder though, who would be sacrificed for Henry. Messi, Eto'o, Ronaldinho? Rijkaard's gonna have a problem with the big egos, I'm afraid.

Toure goes in there somewhere and it leaves Iniesta out, Barca are going to struggle to keep everyone happy but they have great depth.

I don't wanna be overly too dramatic, even though this monumental theft very much requires it, but aside from the Griffey trade in '99 and Ronaldo's ugly departure from Inter, this is probably the most heartbreaking news that I've ever had to hear as a sports fan, man. This deal couldn've been more nauseating and painful....sheesh! It's the sorta event that makes you mourn like a Goddamn coptic widow, man. I mean, it's been looming in the background for more than a couple of seasons now, and you sorta half expected it to go down sooner than later, but that still doesn't make it any more digestible, man.

Look it, aside from not getting any personnel back in return, peep that ******* price tag....it's offensive and just ******* repulsive. They've got 'em for almost a third of what I believe to be his market value.....and why is that? Because he had a clause in his most recent resigning? Because of his uneventful season this year marred by injuries? Age...who knows? Anyway, **** that! He's still got another half decade of good soccer in 'em imo......so how the **** did he get devalued so much? Will we be getting a player of theirs for a Haitian-like price now???

I know that i rode em extra hard while he was with us, accomplishing the many personal and team achievements and, and didnt fully appreciate his immense quality and importance to the club but I'll be damned if im not wrecked and heartbroken by this departure, man.....sheesh. I mean aside from Ronaldo, I can't think of a better forward/striker from his generation....he's just one of those athletes meant to finish his career with the club that made 'em, man.......****!

hmmm...you know what's also distressing about this deal, he's going to a club that I very much enjoy watching. If it was Real, or Bayern, I'd be able to stomach this a bit more, man, because I could careless about those two ******* outfits. But now that he's going to Barca, it's just gonna ruin it for me watching that beautiful club and seeing that number 14 swaggerin' along the camp nou.......if watching that unveiling was nuts deep sickening, I can only imagine what actually seeing him up against us will be like..........Goddamnit, man!!.

ehmm....ehmmm...emmmm......I hope that he Schevenckos at barca.....I'm just sayin'.....I love 'em but........

he wears number 14 as well lololol funny. When players move they start fresh and want to prove themselves. So he will be reenergized for the new season. But I think in the premiership we've lost a star. Hopefully some will come this summer like Torres and co.

I'm not sure if that number was put out of commission, but I'm pretty sure that he'd have to get the blessings of Cryuff, I mean, not that he wouldn't be just as entitled to that 14, but I mean, cmon.....Cruyff is Cruyff.....he may be a total asshole, but you've still gotta kiss his ring and pay respect to 'em if you've got any sense and decorum.
