exactly. football is the name of the game. ea see football like american football stops start. but im sorry guys where i come from (london) football is played in a flowing style and is judged on a variety of different skills at a variety of different levels.

the last fifa game i really enjoyed was fifa99! at the time i played iss64 and i prefered fifa because it had so much teams and players, but sometimes i played iss64 too, because it had a good gameplay... that was the last time fifa series were at the same level as konami games..since then...my god.....look at fifa 2002!!it scares me!!
and iss2 just feels like FOOTBALL and it has been released 3years ago!!! i just cant find any explanation why EA is so bad in soccer games....maybe they are just lazy or somethin
but one thing im sure, if EA release a game that is EXACTLY the same as pes im sure all those fifa fans will say it is the best footy game and that plays better than pes, just because it has the 'EA Sports' symbol in the cover and that stupid slogan 'EA Sports, Its in the game'!!!!
i think it is because of those fans that EA Sports dont bother about doing a good(at least) game, those guys will just keep buying their games, even if they are the biggest crap in the world...
i wonder what does konami have that EA dont...i mean, EA has so much money and they keep doing ****, year after year....Konami must have some kind of magic thing they put into their games, and EA Sports cant find it..EA give us a break and WORK!!!

I wouldnt say english is fast paced.. but is more direct, a lot of long kicks and run after the ball.. spanish league is fast paced but with control of the ball, and italian is get 1 goal and defend.
anyway, is not the fact that EA is an american company, because most of the developing team was from the UK, but it was a new team last yr, so maybe they just needed the time to adapt, we will all check fifa 2004 demo, I just wish this yr they started releasing the demo much earlier so we can criticize some and they can try to make some adjustments, like Unreal, or other games have done lately. EA - Sports UK have made FIFA 2003 and as you can see, they made big improvment. EA - Sports Canada made every FIFA till FIFA 2003. I don't think that UK people will make peace of crap, cause they know what is football. They made FIFA 2003, and as you could see FIFA 2003 has been crowned like "The best football simulation on all consoles including Computers"...
OK, we should worry, that's natural thing... but, i have optimistic look for FIFA 2004.
First off this has nothing to do with how much i ****ing "understand" football "love" football "feel" football or any of the other **** you guys have been saying. I enjoy fifa2003 more then WE just because i do doesnt mean i dont "know" football. Its a matter of opinion not of anything else. If you think someones opinion reflects on if they really understand football then your a naive sack of **** simple as that.
Its just a damn game your very sad if you spend your time trying to "convert" people to other games. I mean how ****ing stupid can you be?? No im not trying to f*cking convert anyone to PES, it is just the only game you can compare with.
I can't enjoy FIFA2003 because if you don't own a PS2 then you ain't got no f*cking choice, you're stuck with FIFA.
It's not like if you don't like Coca Cola you can choose Pepsi instead, if you own a X-Box and don't like FIFA then it's your own ****ing problem because you don't have much of a choice do you?!

and we go back to the title of this topic "There is no hope!!!" not only because of what ea decide but what the fans want also. unfortunately for the football purist as i like to call them there are a lot of people like Ahmedino who like fifa 2003 - no disrespect. the poll at the soccergaming home says that the majority of people see fifa as better than pro evo. now in most ways fifa is better, i have to say. graphics, amount of leagues, crowd atmosphere, player appearance, stadia and sure they could improve more in these area (get the champions league licence). but when it comes down to the most important aspect of all, the football i dont think anyone can honestly deny that what goes on the pitch, in terms of animation, tactics and sheer variety of player ability, that konami are ahead.
with the capacity fifa has and all the licenses they have some people think they are using this advantage to the full. whereas i think the pro evo series has a smaller capacity and it is near the top of it
one more point though. the reason some people want a good game is because they wanna have fun and feel as close to a real football game as possible. only a few gifted can suceed in real football

Lets get this straight:
I'm NOT calling FIFA fans stupid, i would be a f*cking w*nker if i judged people by what video games they like.
I'm simply saying that i think its time that EA starts doing a better job with the FIFA games, i simply can't enjoy a game where a AGF player is rated higher than Chivu.
And no im NOT saying that people that like FIFA don't know anything about footy, but i have the impression that the MAKERS of the game really don't care much bout football.

Yes, FIFA 2003 is a great improvment over the likes of FIFA2000 and FIFA2001. [I think I actually enjoyed 97, 98, 99...bought 'em all, from '94 up to '02]

I admit FIFA2003 is more playable than the previous FIFAs, but not to like WE/PES and rather favor FIFA2003 is just ...just.... I know I'm not the only one feeling this way.
Forget personal interests, and take a look at both of the games objectively.
Tell me one major thing FIFA has over WE/PES gameplay wise.
I've got a list of at least 30, showing how WE/PES could just
