Asked around and carnitine is in meat. I think you might be vegan, so you may need it as a supplement, but it would be redundant for me.
Anyway, I'm shooting to clean and jerk my body weight, which will probably be around 180 by the time I work my way up that high. Lifting heavy weights is fun and much less time consuming than the dumbbell workouts I was doing. Anyway, I have been reading and it seems like heavy weight lifting is virtually all one needs to do to get in good shape, but I'm trying to do an okay amount of cardio as well. I live on a hill, so maybe a couple sprints up that for high intensity interval training. Anyway, I've started to do these supersets, which is basically do all these exercises back to back without stopping; I try to do 10 reps of each, but will go 12+ if I feel like it. Because I try not to rest at all, I don't change the weights between sets (only after each super set), so I set my bar at one weight, and then the dumbbells at another weight for curls and military press. As a result some (squats) are easier than others (clean and jerk), so the reps will vary a little.
Clean and jerk
Bench Press
Squats
Shrugs
Curls
Dips
Military Press
Then rest for quite some time. 10 clean and jerk reps are by far the hardest part, and the order is paced to not blast the same muscle group without some rest. I can do 3-4 of these supersets in 30 minutes, and in terms of burning fat it is way more efficient than 2 hours in the gym doing cardio on the treadmill and then hitting each machine with plenty of rest between sets. One thing I'm really trying to do is to not pause during sets; for example I'll go up in 1 second on the bench press, and down for 3 seconds, but never lock my arms at the top.
