Has anyone tried it? I've been doing the Weider's six everyday now for 20 days and I feel that it is effective. It's my second attempt, for the first time I didn't put much effort into it, I've done too many breaks while practicing. But I have to admit it's really painful sometimes. Does any of you know any other exercise that are less painful or more painful but also more effective? Maybe you guys have some useful tips on mind that would help me out? I'm talking about domestic ways of getting a good body shape.

This is what I'm talking about

Seems good, stretching in general makes your body feel better so I recommend any type of it if you do it consistently.

Whenever I went for periods of time where I jogged regularly that really helped my muscle elasticity and gave me more "bounce" in my step and made me feel more agile.

I also do the hundred push - ups training program which is very good either. They say if you follow the program you will be able to do a hundred push - ups without a break. Now I'm thinking of getting back to swimming because I've always liked this kind of training. Holidays are close to end, school is coming again so I will have to concentrate only on one type of training. Probably I will stick to swimming and keep on doing weider's. Going to a gym once a week is also a solution.

gym + swimming = win. I'll get back to that once uni starts again, maybe I'll get my license too this coming month.

I've never heard about it before. I just googled it now and see it's more complicated than things I do recently.

Yea, program is really hard. And I mean really hard. I remember when I first started it, man, I was so exhausted. One day I even throw up, cause I was completely out of shape. Its ultimate workout for whole body, and now after I did it, I can't regret it. If you stick do the plan, you will see results after just 30 days. And great thing is that this is home workout.

I will definitely try it after I finish Weider's and push-ups program. I noticed, that there's also diet program that should be followed during the exercises. There's a harsh rule BTW - no meals after 7 PM. Do you also stick to the diet?

Yea, but not very strictly. In diet plan it says that is also important to use supplements, like proteins. I didn't use them, cause it get you very expensive if you gonna use them all 90 days.

But diet plan is very important. I ate healthy as I could, it was very hard to follow it. College etc.

Any effective programs for a total beginner? Haven't moved myself at all for 2 years now and decided to change things before i get from flabby to fat. I've been biking now but in a month it's impossible to ride a bike or even jog.

What's your goal. Loose fat or gain mass? Or both? For either you will need push hard... :)

How is it impossible to jog? That doesn't make sense.

I've now hit Day 47 of not working out after being in really pretty good shape at the end of July. Whey protein is important, so are free weights, you can't get good muscles with just body weight exercises. The diet is more important for vanity than anything IMO, you basically have to starve yourself to get a 6-pack (or be genetically blessed). Anyway, protein helps repair your muscles much faster than you would without protein; basically process by which muscles grow is 1) they tear, 2) they repair themselves to withstand that level of stress if you do it again. Also why it's important to use weights, because you won't plateau, you can always keep increasing the weight. If you know what you're doing, you should see results in 30 days no matter what specific exercises you choose. Try to do minimum of 20 minutes of cardio 3-4 times a week at the ver least.

Disgusting ammounts of snow and cold. I live next to Russia and Finland, that should give you an idea :D Might try a raw vegan diet for a week or two while doing a lot of cardio and after that start with some training programs. Been googling around but haven't decided anything yet so if any of you can give me some advice go ahead. I'd like to lose few kilos first and then gain some mass.

Ahhh, I guess that makes sense if the streets and sidewalks aren't shoveled well. I jogged through the winter, but you probably have harsher winters. Anyway, if you can't get outside, I'd suggest 1) Buy a treadmill, 2) Buy a heavy bag, 3) Join a gym to use their treadmill or heavy bag, or 4) If you're a bitch, get Tae-bo or something.

You can also do classic "fitness" exercises at home by using some videos. I did fitness workout 4 times a week about 40 minutes, and as ShiftyPowers said after only 1 month you will be able to see results. Also, use some measurement of your waist etc, it will help you track results. And eating healthy is 70% of success if not even more. Eat healthy and work regularly and you can't mistake.

I actually like to run when snow is, its much harder, but is much more effective. 30 minutes running in snow and I am done, socked wet and day after I am in hospital... Just kidding, its very effective running in winter cause body is using more energy too keep body temperature and in that case you loose fat more faster.

Thanks Shifty and Waldo :D

Actually, now when I think of it, it sounds pretty fun (and challenging), trying to run in snow, in full winter gear, gonna try it out in few months...

It's a lot harder on your lungs; I think there's less oxygen in cold air for some reason, kind of like how a soccer ball gets less inflated in cold. I would suggest being in decent shape before winter, and not just going out for the first time in -15 degree weather. Also, wear gloves, a hat, a thermal underarmour style shirt, and a fleece track Carlos*et over it (not one of those 80s windbreakers).
