can't wait for the final, Sporting in front of their home fans and CSKA in great form...should be a great one!

Yeah, definitely! It's the two best teams of this years UEFA Cup, as I said and predicted after the quarter-finals. It should be a great game!

I got a question. Since this is a Cup final, and could have been any two teams could have been in the final, does Sporting HAVE to give up half of the tickets to Moskva supporters?

I would guess they would have to make it fair for the other team, but I could be wrong?

It's actually UEFA handling this not Sporting I think.

Anyway Sporting will be treated as a neutral team but I think if the tickets given to CSKA aren't all sold (which is very likely since I can't see 10k russians making the trip to Lisbon) they will be returned and sold.

Sporting's run on UEFA Cup doing another kind of damages:

http://skysports.planetfootball.com...y+reveals+Shear+despair&channel=Football_Home

Newcastle chief Graeme Souness has revealed that Magpies talisman Alan Shearer was left mentally drained by their Uefa Cup exit to Sporting.
Shearer has yet to lift any silverware with his hometown club and Newcastle's torrid month in April left his dreams in tatters for another season.
Souness has suggested that Shearer felt Uefa Cup glory was there for the taking and the defeat in Portugal left the striker in tatters.
Shearer was rested for the win over Fulham on Wednesday and Souness has confirmed it was the former England captain who asked to be taken out of the heat of battle following a torrid few weeks.
"Nobody has worked harder for us in this recent period," Souness told Sky Sports News. "He was mentally and physically down.
"I think the game in Portugal where we were knocked out of the Uefa Cup really hurt him as he felt it was a great chance to win something.
"He has been psychologically and mentally down and he came to me and asked if he could be rested and I could not argue as he has been great for me."

Valery Gazzayev, the coach of CSKA, tried to play down the incident involving Bucci.

"Of course, it wasn't good for them to throw flares on the pitch," said Gazzayev.

"But let's not make it a big issue. We had a fantastic crowd tonight at the stadium and it was just a handful of misbehaving fans who were throwing stuff.

"You have to understand our fans also. They have been waiting for this moment, a Russian team reaching a European cup final, for a very, very long time. I think they just got over excited," he added.

I hope CSKA come away with a (hefty) fine only.

Gazzayev's excuses are pretty lame. "excuse them for the incident, they were excited". Im surprised Roma didnt use this excuse for the Frisk incident, surely Uefa woulve forgiven them  .

CSKA will be awarded the victory and a fine, and it will show how hypocrital UEFA is.

my god, gazzayev..um..uh....im dumbfounded, "you have to understand our fans also" i dont know whether im more angry with this statement or i think this guy is a moron

why dont we understand the inter fans, why dont we understand the roma fans. he is actually defending the actions of his fans throwing flares. oh they were excited becasue they were going to reach the final, bull***********

now i hope he understands why his team shouldnt be playing the uefa cup final....because of his teams overly excited fans

Help?

Gazzaev is dumb. When he was at the national team, all he did was pick CSKA players instead of better ones, that's why they failed badly. He got some cash got players that had good skill and workrate and sits on it now, but make him go into another team and he will suck.

BTW CSKA will only get a fine. Inter -Milan case, Milan were already though 99% and there was almost no chance for Inter to come back, while in this case a team made it to the final and put another one instead, because of the fun? Not gonna happen. Big fine definietly, Maybe play next european games behind closed doors? could be, but overturn the result? No. Forget it, won't happen.
