Juventus have offered 10 million euros for Miguel. Benfica rejected the offer.

Lisbon sports paper Record is reporting that Juventus have tabled a 10 million Euro offer for Benfica and Portugal wing Miguel.
Miguel, who has one of the biggest surprises of the EURO 2004 tourny, is the player Juventus boss Fabio Capello wants in order to resolve his current right wing problems.

The report also indicates Benfica have rejected the Serie A side’s offer as it is 5 million Euros below what they want for the player.

The two clubs are expected to meet during the weekend in an attempt to settle their differences and seal the deal off.

What's up with european teams thinking they can come to Portugal and buy our best players for cheap? PdC is right: they're used to buy our best companies for almost free (GALPs, etc.) and expect football teams to act the same way.
Before selling Miguel, Benfica should look at how much Paulo Ferreira cost Chelsea.

the difference is, Roman overpayed ferreira for about twice, and this is Juventus, which dont have money to throw around like Chelsea.

Yeah... the Ferreira deal was some kind of a joke.. really.. 20 M € is a bit to much for him... IMO

I doubt that Benfica will sell Miguel. I don´t think they really need the money after selling Tiago anyways. I also doubt that Moggi will give much more money for him. He will prolly remain another year in Benfica and then be sold when Luis Filipe Vieira or José Veiga have more time to pick a decent sub for Miguel.

I don't think so, it was obvious he was not in shape in the end of the last season and in Euro 2004 but u have to look at what he made through the last 2 years he spent at Porto, he was probably the most regular player of our team and i think in his best form he's clearly the best portuguese RB and one of the best in Europe, maybe the most complete... ;) About Miguel i think Benfica is being too much "birrento", i mean, he's a good player(not as good as P.Ferreira) but IMO asking more than 10 million € is too much for such a player like him.

Ferreira is worth 10million €, Miguel a bit less. As i said, the difference is, that Roman could overpay Ferreira like he did, cause he has ****loads of money to blow, but Juventus dont, and Benfica set a higher price because they dont want to sell him.

birrento? but now Benfica could not made the price for his own players? just because Juventus offers 10 Million we have to accept? what a joke... he has a 15 million clause so pay the 15 M...

U saying that Ferreira value should be 20 € and that Miguel should be sold for less than 10€?!

Please... that just can be a joke...

I'm not saying Ferreira is not a good player.. cause he is... But i still consider Miguel better than him... He is a great player but 20€ is to much for a defender...

Owen cost 12 million euros. Paulo Ferreira 20 million. You think this is a fair valuation?

Ferreira is my favourite right back in the world, but never I would rate him as high as 20 million euros. Mr. Abramovich and his laundry money can work out miracles.

Yeah, the dumbasses :)

Roger has no tactical culture, any kind of discipline on and off the field. He only has potential. And he's 26 years old. Someone with a potential still to fulfill at that age, makes me remember Dani. The difference is everyone wants to have Roger, so he doesn't go to Porto. Just because of that. Let Pinto da Costa have him and make another colection of players! Now of attacking midfielders! And one certainly has no level to play in Europe!
