Postiga did very well today... and a very deserved goal for him!
He's starting to show some glimpses of what kind of player he was, before moving to Tottenham... i hope now, Scholari realizes who deserves the starting lineup spot... and that's not Nulo Gomes for sure...
Quaresma and Nani had a decent game! Bosingwa is in awesome form... he's just fantastic... if he keeps playing like this, it will be no surprise if he takes Miguel's place as the right-back starter...
And Meira was our most effective and reliable defender today!

Don't get me wrong... actually Miguel is one of my favorites players in the NT, and i agree: one of the best RB's in th world... for instance, we can't forget how, in the World Cup, he owned completely owned Arjen Robben...

But the fact is that, Bonsigwa is a speedy player and currently (whether we want to accept it or not), he's in better shape than Miguel... and he has actually improved a lot his technique and tactical understanding... his style of play resembles Miguel, when he was in the form of his life... did you see when he came him? He made instant impact, and was immediately creating plenty of havoc for the Belgian defence... nowadays, you don't see Miguel doing that, like he used to...

But of course, when he's in shape, Miguel is undoubtedly our first choice as a right-back... for starters, he's more experienced than Bosingwa! But right now... i can see Bosingwa taking his place, and i wouldn't mind it a bit...

Moreira, Bosingwa was one of the most influential players for Porto, at least in the second half of the season...

im not doubting that, im just saying if your comparing miguel on how he did on Valencia/Portugal (last 2 tournments) against what Bosingwa did with Porto you cant compare it.. but again i cant comment on yesterdays game as i didnt see the 2nd half so i havent had a chance to see him play on our NT yet

Quaresma is great and has great skill, nobody can deny that. But he's inconsistent at times. Some games Porto lost or drawed on the league, part of it was because he was on a "not so good" day. He's still a fantastic player to have, mind you.

when he played in sporting at the same time as ronaldo, i thought he was much better than ronaldo
and he has the potential to be even better than ronaldo, except in physical terms in wich ronaldo is much stronger and taller
quaresma is to me one of the players with greatest technique, he's capable of doing amazing things during a game: dribbling, crossing, shooting, using the "trivela". when he's in good shape he's a world class player
but unfortunately he's not a hard worker at all. maybe he hasn't have the right coach yet, i don't know.... but i think he's never going to change
ronaldo worked really hard to reach the level that he is now. quaresma, well he's just a lazy bastard
anyway i hope he prooves i'm wrong and changes his mentality

A very ashaming result, but playing under 40ºC isn't easy. And Quim was very awful in their goal, a GK should never suffer a goal like that. That's why I still prefer Ricardo in the 11-lineup. Because between the posts, he is much better than Quim.

The team played awful. Quaresma was horrible. Nani looked tired and out-of-shape. That midfield didn't exist.

New players? Duda looked quite good, made a couple of wonder-crosses and pulled the team forward. Antunes despite some or another forward run, was pretty average. Joao Tomas scored the goal and failed a made-goal.

Whatever, it was just a friendly, Scolari will pull the players ears and they won't do it again this year, Lichtenstein-esque in 2005 so whatever.

that wasnt quim he was subbed out for daniel fernandes that was possibly the worst made wall i have ever seen on that free kick... didnt even cover the near post like its supposed to...

safe bet to say hell never play again

and joao tomas missed some very good chances aswell..

One thing at the time, game by game. I think going through the phase group is a great achievement. From there, anything can happen.

It's great to see that this sh*t is getting everyone together. Actually, it's the only thing that gets us together. A good way to avoid the stupid gas prices going up or Jose Socrates smoking on a plane

About the topics..

I think Moutinho is in great shape, he did a terrific season and I'm convinced will do some great games. Deco needs to show his value now that he's leaving Barça, so yeah I'm also pretty confident he'll do alright.

Don't think we'll be able to win it though, we don't have a team yet like Scolari said, just a bunch of talented players. And also due to the fact that Ricardo will be the goealkeeper and Scolari is tactily inept, even if he can be a great motivator.

And Ronaldo annoys me pretty much playing for the NT he just tries to do it all on his own.. With all the pressure now that he's having about Madrid and all I'm pretty unsure about his performances, though always hoping to see the best of him. Also keeping in mind that we don't have Tevez and Rooney upfront to work on the defenders, opening space for him.


Oh and is it me or those reports about the NT, the bus, the plane they traveled, every ******* worthless aspect of the facility they are in, to the most insignificant detail of the players' personal life are becoming extremely irritating or what?

Yes, we should be supporting the NT but all this hype in the media around them it's not good, we haven't won anything yet, good to remember.
But yeah, I'll be here supporting 'em.
