Well for once, I'm not getting lost in transfer hype and speculation. There are players I'd like to see come in but until there's a real likelyhood of seeing them here I won't get too excited.

Who was it who said that we are looking at Rio Antonio Mavuba of Bordeux? Hes a pocket rocket of a player...a faster version of Makelele.
it was me and fergie seems intent on getting him.

Good win against Sheffield United today. Would have pissed in my pants if we didn't win. Oh yeah, Ronaldo's miss was  .

Paulo Da Silva

Starting XI
Nani has cooled down a bit and has not been playing great or even good for that since his NT call up. Hes not ready to hold down a starting role at Sporting.I say leve him in Portugal 1 or 2 more years the sign him. He does have lots of potential.

Ronaldo was out of this world at 17 years old, thats why he made the jump qucikly. Nani is very good but not at the level Ronaldo was at his age.

Imagine if you guys signed Quaresma. Wow your wingers would be amazing.

Wow, we fought so hard for this victory, ****efield United had no intentions of playing football against us, it was 11 men behind the ball all the way, but man we broke past. ROONEY ROONEY pure class when we needed it the most. Ronaldo.....hit the post, missed an open goal...TWICE. Ouch, still played brilliantly though, still the number one winger in the country, and will be the best player in the world in the not too distant future.

i agree sheffield didnt deserve anything from the game...what the hell was that the whole 2nd half was played in their half...they just put the whole team behind the ball. But there was no doubt in my mind we would get the win. Feel sorry for ronaldo...he was unlucky today. And those sheffield utd fans are freakin bast*rds..

Damn i dunno how we gonna get through the celtic and chelsea game...our lads must be super tired. We had to push to the limit just for this win.

Great win! Different from past set-backs against the so called smaller clubs we kept our patience and because of that we created a lot of great chances. Today's crosses were pure quality alot of them were very dangerous. Pity though that Chelsea also won their game from a Geremi free-kick. Well atleast Arsenal lost another 2 points on us. Let's hope that Boro can hurt the Dippers furthermore

What a relief at a win. Sheffield just put 10 behind the ball and sat for 75 minutes. The ref wasn't even in the game. 2 clear penalties missed and a bunch of wierd freekicks called and not called.

I like it though how before Rooney scored, Sheffield had players falling in pain needing a medic every 3 minutes, sometimes they would make a clearance and just lie on the ground like somebody kicked them. It was all sorted out though, after Rooney's second goal, nobody else was spending time on the floor.

Too bad Chelsea won, at least Arsenal fell even further behind

1. the ref was absolute ****e

2. Team played well. Needed old boy Gillespie's goal to wake us up though.

3. Gary Neville's crosses. Magnificent. He should have scored though given the chances he had for the past few games.

4. Ronaldo...Miss of the season. Needs some encouragement.

Team is in good form to play against Chelsea.

This win is more important than it looks. It did keep us 3 points ahead of Chelsea before the big game, but this is a strong morale boost, because in the past we would have dropped 2 or 3 points in such games. Teams lose the titles because they can't deal with small teams but if you give no reason to the small teams to believe that they can beat you, then they won't. Losing to Sheffield but beating Chelsea, would still give hope to lower level teams that they can do it too like Sheffield, but beating Sheffield and losing to Chelsea would barely give any hope to these small teams, since they are not Chelsea quality. The mentality under this win is immense.

its in the gossip section where they are just quoting what other papers have said.

these sounds interesting...

"Sir Alex Ferguson wants to land a new forward and Charlton's Darren Bent tops Manchester United's January transfer window shopping list. (Sunday Express)"

"Manchester United have issued a "hands-off" warning to clubs interested in defender Jonny Evans. (People)"

"And the Red Devils may rekindle their interest in Serbian keeper Vladimir Stojkovic after he told French club Nantes he wants to leave. (People)"
