I see..... I'll admit I've not seen allot of him. He does remind me of Fowler when I have seen him play.

I meant either Mellor or FSP.

We'd benefit a lot more with Kewell on the wing then up front. Maybe FSP with Mellor playing as a CF? Who knows...

Reds in shock McPhee link

Liverpool dispatched a scout to watch Stephen McPhee play for Beira-Mar on Sunday.

The Reds sent scouting co-ordinator Frank McParland to the Estadio Aveiro on Sunday to watch Beira-Mar face Sporting Lisbon and McPhee was understood to be the reason for his trip.

The game ended 2-2 and although McPhee did not score, he did impress McParland.

"He is a player that we have checked on already before coming here and we know he has done well in the Portuguese championship," McParland told Ojogo.

"I do not doubt he is a young player with a lot of value, in the match with Sporting he did not shine but he worked hard and always tries for the team."

McPhee moved to Beira-Mar in the summer after quitting Port Vale on a free transfer, following a failed bid from Leeds United.

The 23-year-old has settled well in Portugal since his move and has bagged three goals in 10 games.

Liverpool are believed to be trawling Europe for possible striking options and McPhee is the latest to come under their gaze.

However, The Reds or any other club would not be allowed to make a move for McPhee as he cannot move twice in one season.

Beira-Mar president Jose Santana Mano Nunes has already stated his intent to keep the young Glaswegian at the club - although a big offer would more than likely be accepted.

is he any good?

Well, more bad news. Not only did we lose to a controversial goal with Saviola controlling the ball with his hand before scoring, but Garcia is out for about a month with a hamstring injury and Josemi had to come off with after a sickening head clash.

EDIT: Also, to qualify for the knock-out stages of CL, we must BEAT Olympiakos by at least 2-0 to get there. Lets just hope we produce what we did to Roma a few years back.

CHEATIN! fúckin cheat!! the boy clearly used his hand to control the ball!! :f***: there was nothing between the sides tonight, the only difference was they had luck and the ref on their side. i have a feeling we wont go through :(

 He didn't score in the dying minutes, he scored in the 54th minute, liverpool should have just forget about that and score a goal or two but couldn't.

well luck isn't in our side this seson 3 major injuries (Cisse, Baros, Garcai) in the worst possible time.

I think we should think for next seson cuz this is very much over for us only if we beat Olympiakos and Monaco loses to Deportivo we can qualify

Shambles... Simply a shambles. I've never seen such an unthreatening attack in a professional team. They couldn't scoe in a brothal with a £50 note hanging out of their zipper.

I also learnt a rather interesting stat earlier, this season Kirkland has only saved 50% of shots at him in the Premiership, lowest in the league, maybe hes not the god send everyone thought he was. He certainly seemed more interesting in appealing for a handball then trying to save Saviola's shot tonight.

Hopefully the UEFA cup will be more forgiving

And to further spread the cheer...our most improved defender Djimi T had done his knee in as well, approximately 2-3 weeks. Ah...but since it's us, make it 2-3 months.
