DANG IT!!
I was so close...but 3rd is still a CLs spot....

who comes up with stuff like this? this is hilarious!!

This is why I hope Spain lose all their games...
it's like 2 separate coutries to begin with, then you players not wanting to be next to the flag, then you get catalan and basque fighting in the team, then you get these articles....

oh well, but of luck to you guys, but I think the USA NT gets more support from their fans

^^ There are die hard fans and choosy ones, as in every nations, but once the competition is on all these differences are forgotten ;)

First serious training today. Salgado got injured ( :( ). Luis came up with this lineup

---------------Iker-----------------
--Ramos--Puyol--Pablo--Del Horno--
------------Xabi Alonso------------
----------Cesc------Xavi-----------
--Luis Garcia---Torres---Villa--------

I really love that midfield without Albelda and full of creativity :) I would just swap Torres with Raul and I'm done :hump:

I like that team but lets see if Aragones really sticks with it...

Get Torres out for Raul, and that is one hell of a team. Though there won't be much wingplay.

Hell no. Raul right now only offers a bit of link-up play and some fight. Yes Torres is overhyped but with that and all i'd still put him over Raul because at least he can score a goal or two. I'd put Reyes on the left and Villa up front before putting Raul in at this point.

And the good thing about the team is that if that team doesn't work he can bring in Joaquin and Reyes and switch to a wing play, plus Ramos and Del Horno are good coming up the wings.

What bothers me is that we have too many incosistent players up front. Luis Garcia, Joaquin, Reyes, Torres are all very hot/cold players. On their day they can be very good but then they can have some real stinkers and you can't afford that in a World Cup.

Oh you won't Spain to loose all their games, please DON'T... :boohoo:

Anyways have you ever thought of the remote possibility that some regions in Spain like Catalunya or the Basque Country for example actually have their own language and customs. Because from what you just wrote it seems like it' s an utopy that Spain is so divided, and actually it's not.

And Raul is supposed to start?? haha

Phil Ball has written his season-end review and I think it's phenomenal. I hope you all read it if you have a chance. It includes his reflections on his earlier predictions, his season top-11, and interesting stats

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=368592&root=europe&cc=5901

Part of the reason I love this article is because it is very flattering for Sevilla, but before you scream bias I will tell you that he has barely given them the time of day in his earlier articles and made some unfavorable predictions mid-season. Here are some of my favorite points of his article:

- Names Palop the best goalkeeper in La Liga this year (FINALLY SOMEBODY ACKNOWLEDGES THIS!). He also adds, "Should have gone to Germany as third-choice, instead of Liverpool's Reina."
- Dani Alves the best RB in La Liga.
- Jesus Navas the best right winger, plus "should definitely have gone to Germany in place of the congenitally inconsistent Joaquín."
- "Raúl is now crap, Morientes will be watching from a swimming-pool somewhere, and Torres is the most overrated player since pizza was predicted to replace sliced bread... if you see what I mean."
- Beckham led the league (by far) in assists.
- Fernando Torres lost the most balls this season (396)

Del Horno is doubtful for the World Cup, whilst Salgado will be fit for the appointment.

Let's see if Luis is stupid enough to call crappy Capdevilla instead of Pernia to replace Del Horno.
