Diego Costa is beginning to concern me. I don't like how he is scoring goals so quickly in the EPL. He is not a young player either. He should be slow, but that is not proving to be the case.

So far he's scored two goals from being at the right place at the right time and taking advantage of confusion in the area. I have no problem with him doing that although I would like to seem him score goals from actual plays to feel truly confident about our scoring ability with him. He's shown glimpses of what he can do if he gets some space, but I've been disappointed with his ability in the air, which I thought he'd be better at.

Anyway, fuck Martinez. Pienaar out and he puts Osman on. Play Atsu!

This Chambers kid is making it really hard to laugh at Wenger. I was only vaguely aware of him at Soton and thought 16m was a joke, especially as he's slotted out of position but he actually looks quite decent.

Good for Coleman, I like him. I get why Arsenal didn't get him (price) and why Liverpool didn't either (price and Johnson is competent enough for now) but ManU really should. He's much better than Rafael or a converted Jones/Smalling. He could also play RWB very effectively.

Chambers is good, not terribly fast though and that becomes more obvious when he's paired with Mertesacker. Koscielny is able to cover for either of them.

Looking at how many of Sunderland's players are Top 4 rejects, I can envision about half of ManU's squad right now playing for them within 5 years.

So i guess we been blaming Moyes for no reason, and we need to consider giving SAF a helluva more credit for what he accomplished with these bums.

Moyes never had an injury crisis that bad though and still had Giggs, Vidic, Evra and Ferdinand. Moyes inherited a title winning team. van Gaal inherited a dismantled team with lots of injuries.

Having those guys was a detriment if anything. Washed up players who were locker-room leaders and probably led the charge against Moyes.

Oh I see. So now the excuses come in for Van Gaal. Van Gaal loses, yet Moyes still gets the blame. The blame here, falls on Van Gaal.

Without Ferguson, United's class of 92 would have not amounted to very much. All the credit goes to Ferguson. To me, a lot less credit goes to the players than what most people heap on them because they just weren't that great. The manager carried them. Any club in the EPL would say that - ManU are no exception.

Did I blame Moyes? No I didn't in thtat post. just comparing the teams that they had to deal with.

Moyes inheriting a "winning" team is a joke ... no one else seemed to want to win the 12/13 Prem title, in what was a low quality season ...

You don't get much for your money these days, do you? The richest league in the world has a galling number of poor teams. In fact, this season the majority of sides have been defined more by their flaws than by their qualities (no decent strikers, no decent defenders or just no inspiration). Manchester United's procession to the title was a testament not only to their efficiency but also to the ineptitude of their supposed rivals, and you could make a strong case for about a dozen teams deserving relegation. English clubs were generally embarrassed in Europe by smarter and slicker opponents and almost everything was decided by the last weekend.

also, there was zero successful transition planning from Srallex over the years ... his splurges on "potential" were mostly busts ...

The fact that Rio, Giggs, Scholes, Fletcher, Evra and Vidic were still in the club shows how poorly Fergie left the poisition for the next guy. Only Evra and Vidic were still serviceable and possibly Fletcher if he's ever fit. He also put the club's situation with Rooney in a bind and let their future MVP walk away while leaving a huge hole in midfield which he failed to fix in multiple seasons. Actually, other than ST, where he left two top players in their prime and on huge wages, and GK, he left no area of the field settled.

He was a great manager and what he did with the squad he had, although admittedly that last season was moreso about the lack of quality in the league, was tremendous, but he completely fucked you over when he left the club.
