They got Can who can cover defense and midfield as well as Lovren and Alberto Moreno. They're reinforcing the whole squad because they need depth to challenge on multiple front. I don't see what they could have done better in this transfer window, honestly.
How? Lovren is as good as it gets in the current market (consider that Barca got Vermaelen for 15m and they can attract much better players than Pool) and it's not like they can convince Kroos to come. With Balotelli they have the closest thing possible to a Suarez replacement, and now have 3 good STs while having improved the starting quality CB, LB and got a winger, an AMC and an MC/FB. Oh, and Origi makes a 4th ST and we all know titles are won by 4-man striking squads (Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo, Jovetic; van Persie, Rooney, Chicharito, Welbeck).
And CITY got Fernando so thinking Liverpool could have is misguided. They also have little use for him considering they play with a DLP and already have Leiva (who is worse, but you don't spend 15m on someone who doesn't fit the formation).
Best they could do now is get Khedira from ManU, but not sure they'd want to having Gerrard, Allen, Leiva, Henderson and Can with Lallana and Coutinho as attacking mids.

Still in your squad Bobby? Can't get his preferred transfer to Barca or Madrid it seems, nor the wages his aiming at. I think Torres could do well enough for them for a season, considering their alternatives are worse.
Can't think of anyone available who they could get, especially now that the season's started. There's definitely someone left (e.g. Aboukabar a week ago) but for some reason they haven´t pounced.
