And Mandzukic scores off a Muller cross. Bad marking down the left side from Frankfurt who left Muller alone and the CB didn't challenge Mandzukic enough.

kp40 you overestimate Huntelaar! He's good but not someone who would score 40 goals per season. He's no Ronaldo or Messi. : )

He scored 48 in 2011/12....

Is Jung injured? He's not in the squad and Schrock is having a horrid time against Ribery today, who is on fire. Trapp just saved Frankfurt after Dante struck a vicious volley from inside the 6 yard box and he parried it.

Ribery is unbelievable today.

Meier just headed a ball in that was close to being goal and it was wrongly chalked off as offside.

Bayern play with Schweini between the CBs, Muller and Ribery stretching play and Alaba and Lahm tucked a bit inside.

Oczipka just stopped a nearly certain goal.

0-1 HT. Bayern dominating, Frankfurt don't know who is gonna come forward as even the CBs have joined the attack. They are lucky with some errors in attack from Bayern, some last-ditxh saves and Trapp to tthank for what is still a decent result to overcome.

Frankfurt have started this half well. Bayern only now geting some control back. I don't like Muller's position Ribery and Robben and even Shaqiri are more suited to it, he seems to have been told to stay wide more than he's used to, and he should be given a free pass to pop up anywhere.

Rode limps off whixhvis a shame, he is very good. Robben on for Muller which makes sense. Muller should play a different role, he is good enough and versatile enough to be used in a better, more useful way.

Frankfurt have some attractive players, just saying.

Lakic and Celozzi on for Schwefler and Inui. Can't see Frankfurt tying this now (unless via a cross) with 3 of their best players (4 if you count Jung) off the field. Meier and Lakic could be a nuance in the air though.

Rafinha on for Kroos. Lahm and Alaba are amazing, they could play anywhere.

Bayern are very lucky. Neuer goes insane and leaves Lakic an open net from far away but Dante intercepts it. This moments after Trapp parried a 1vs1 with Schweini.

I don't think so. Dante tried to reach the ball but he looked like pulling his foot back the moment he realise he can't touch it. Not sure about it though.

0-1 FT. Do.'t think Bayerb were that impressive, they were even a bit lucky at the end and Frankfurt fought well. They have some good players, Meier had a good match and even Schrock wound up managing to deal with Ribery (who turned off at the 2nd half). That said, Bayern were mostly in control and once they get used to the new system they should dominate fully. Too much class across the park for them not to.

The Braunschweig fans in Dortmund are singing the following to BVB: "Without Hoeness you wouldn't be here" and "Gotze has gotten home" (H)

Watched rhe first half of Leverkusen-Stuttgart which wwas boring and I stopped watching after Bender had to be subbed. Interesting to see Stutgart using a 3-man defense. Sam-Kiessling-Son is an excellent attacking trio.

Watching the Gladbach-Hannover match now. Arango doesn't look fit, he doesn't have to be, as Gladbach don't necessarily rely on speed, but I don't think he has much more in him. Herrman and Kruse could be a big hit this year. Herrman has speed, technique and movement and Kruse is i.credibly intelligent (which makes up for his lower speed). Every intervention by Kruse is top class, if you think I'm bullshitting, catch tr highlights. So far he's got a goal, made the 2nd goal, and could have had two assists but his teammates fluffed good chances.

I said it before but watching him again for the first ttine this season, I am certain that Dortmund should sign him. He has excellent technique and vision and his movement off the ball is brilliant, I think 2nd only to Muller and Gotze. The only caveat is his relative lack of mobility so he would have to step it up to fit in with Klopp's pressing style. That said, his movement would be such a good fit and he is very good at this false 9 role he's been employed at. A year with Favre will make him ready, too bad Gladbach aren't in Europe.

Also, BVB should get Volland. A more typic striker with great movement who would make for a great option off the bench for them. Assuming only Lewy leaves, if BVB were to get Kruse, Volland, Trapp (or Zieler, or ter Stegren, or Giefer) and sign Sahin full time (with Sobiech back as CB cover and Leitner hopefully stepping it up) they'd be set with a good 11 and backup. Not enough to beat Bayern but certainly enough to keep a good rhythm while challenging on all fronts. If they have the funds, Kiyotake and Rode would be excellebt additions as well (to replace Gotze and Kehl).

As I was writing this Herrman and Kruse combined well and Kruse would have scored if it weren't for a handball (pe.alty converted to make it 3-0). Kruse is my favorite player outside of the top two clubs in the Bundesliga.
