Watched rhe first half of Leverkusen-Stuttgart which wwas boring and I stopped watching after Bender had to be subbed. Interesting to see Stutgart using a 3-man defense. Sam-Kiessling-Son is an excellent attacking trio.
Watching the Gladbach-Hannover match now. Arango doesn't look fit, he doesn't have to be, as Gladbach don't necessarily rely on speed, but I don't think he has much more in him. Herrman and Kruse could be a big hit this year. Herrman has speed, technique and movement and Kruse is i.credibly intelligent (which makes up for his lower speed). Every intervention by Kruse is top class, if you think I'm bullshitting, catch tr highlights. So far he's got a goal, made the 2nd goal, and could have had two assists but his teammates fluffed good chances.
I said it before but watching him again for the first ttine this season, I am certain that Dortmund should sign him. He has excellent technique and vision and his movement off the ball is brilliant, I think 2nd only to Muller and Gotze. The only caveat is his relative lack of mobility so he would have to step it up to fit in with Klopp's pressing style. That said, his movement would be such a good fit and he is very good at this false 9 role he's been employed at. A year with Favre will make him ready, too bad Gladbach aren't in Europe.
Also, BVB should get Volland. A more typic striker with great movement who would make for a great option off the bench for them. Assuming only Lewy leaves, if BVB were to get Kruse, Volland, Trapp (or Zieler, or ter Stegren, or Giefer) and sign Sahin full time (with Sobiech back as CB cover and Leitner hopefully stepping it up) they'd be set with a good 11 and backup. Not enough to beat Bayern but certainly enough to keep a good rhythm while challenging on all fronts. If they have the funds, Kiyotake and Rode would be excellebt additions as well (to replace Gotze and Kehl).
As I was writing this Herrman and Kruse combined well and Kruse would have scored if it weren't for a handball (pe.alty converted to make it 3-0). Kruse is my favorite player outside of the top two clubs in the Bundesliga.
