Schalke tied Paok Saloniki in Germany 1-1. If they don't get it together and qualify it will mark the second consecutive year the Bundesliga fails into getting all 4 teams to the group stages since they won the rights to have 4 teams qualify.

A Dortmund seasonal ticket is only worth 150€, holy shit, as much as a Granada-Real Madrid....

It's the same price here, more or less (I've payed €145 for mine). Big difference is the german people's financial status is much stronger than ours so that actually makes it extremely cheap for them...

Yeah i know, a friend of mine went to Taça final and bought the ticket for 20€... in a gas station.... meanwhile here (Barça-Atleti):

I really like him, and football hipstering or not, he's a good player for Barca. He is agile and so is quick coming off the line and making stretched saves, which compebsates for some not-as-good positioning and he doesn't quite manage to make himself big like Trapp, for example. He doesn't trap the ball at the level of Valdes but his reflexes are amazing, probably among the best in Europe, if not the best. His concentration is good for his age too. Mostly his weakness is with organizing the defense and dealing with set-pieces, which could compound your problems at corners, but other than that, for open play there is no keeper better suited for you IMO (maybe barring de Gea).

Another defeat for Schalke ... what a bad start ...

On the other side, Leverkusen and Mainz won again, 4 teams with 100% start.

Watched Bayern replay. The fact that Thiago got injured is excellebt IMO. That way Kroos-Gotze-Muller will get mire minutes and show Pep how absolutely awesome they are.

Robbery is back and with the way the are playing, Robben is the definite starter, he fits the role better tthan Muller, even though the latter is a better and more complete player.

Alaba's penalty was woeful, but he had an awesome match otherwise. I live that guy, what I wouldn't give for Chelsea to secure him as Cole replacement.

The situation on the wings is interestig. The wingers dtay wide and look to cut inside with the ball whereas the fullbacjs start inside and look tto overlap when the wingers get tthe ball, or break past through the inside channel. And yet sometimes the wingers will stick wide and allow the fullbacks to stay inside. It makes marking them very difficult but I tthink this only makes sense with Muller on the pitch to further exacerbate the defense with his movement and to pop into the boz for crosses and passes from the outside in.

I'm not a fan of this approach though, I feel some players are been utilised poorly and it is not ivisive enough. Last years's Bayern were breathtaking but this Batern could still gget there once they adapt to it.

And Kiyotake is brilliant. I hope he moves to a bigger Bundesliga team next summer. Ginzeck was impressive too.

During the match I also got to thinking about the keeper situation in Germany. I'd like to see ter Tegren move to Barca, Trapp to Dortmund and Ulreich/Zieler to Schalke to replace Weidenfeller and sve tthe GK situation respectively. Weidenfeller is very vocal and Trapp is the perfect substitute for him IMO. Gladbach can replace ter Stegen with Giefer.

Watching highlights of the rest of the matches:

So many red cards. 3 in the Hoffenheim match (as wellvas 1 to Freiburg's manager) where Volland scored an awesome goal.

This league is extremely unpredictable. Wlfsburg beat Schalje heavily and then lose to Mainz, for example. Muller has beeb on fire so far. Gustavo had a great first match and got a red in his 2nd.

I don't know why Kiesslig isn't etting a call-up, but he really deserves one. The Sam-Son-Kiessling trident is very good, Sam has really stepped up to replace Schurrle. The Herrman-Kruse connection is also gonna be great to wwatch this year.

Szalai with a good goal and a bad miss, although Clemens shod have laid it off better. 3 reds here, too.

I really like this Frankfurt team.

Miss of the day goes to Molders. 1vs1 with Ulreich who saves well but the ball falls back to Molders who leaves the keeper behind and misses an empty net.

Haven't really kept myself up to date with football news in the last week(s).
Just learned that Thiago got injured for 2 months as pointed out in the upper post. Didn't the same thing happen to him at the beginning of last season in Barca?
Kind of sucks for him though, because there is already so much competition in Bayern's midfield. But it might not be an issue for him as he's kind of Guardiola's pet.
Bayern to move for another midfielder now? Özil? (joke)

A Bayern side featuring many subs is leadig 1-0 after a lovely Muller cross was finished excellently by Shaqiri. That said, this Bayern is slow and no where near as awe-inspiring ad last year's version. Gotze looks off, probably due to fitness. Freiburg have actually looked good in some bits. This is a side that will ein matches entirely becsuse of its individuals. Lots of imprecision, still a long way to go to adjust to Pep's model.

S 0-1 at HT. Bayern mostly takig ages to carve out moves and it has only been Shaqiri's direct intensity and Muller's quality that have made this match slightly more interesting than last night's boring Chelsea match. I want to see Freiburg score so Bayern are forced to get forward more. Right now if it isn't through a dribble they just can't create chances. The fact that Sorg has had one of the best and only chances is telling (though Sorg is a good player).
