I don't see the words wage and contract so how exactly is this tapping up?

Contact of any sort between club officials and players without consent of the player's current club is 'tapping up.' Sorry to burst your bubble, but every team does it, no-one is innocent. If you believe Aresenal has never, ever talked to a player when they shouldn't, well that's just pretty naive isn't it? Maybe not proven, but certainly it's a blinkered view.

Well I know that every club talks to players but it's not like Arsenal told Baptista that they would triple his wages or anything like what Chelsea did with Cole.

how do you know what wenger said to him.....he said enough so that when Baptista next spoke to Seville ,he rejected Sevilles improved contract. Now why would Baptista do that unless he knew he was gonna get a better deal in London?I just love the hypocrisy of Arsenal.Talk about make yourself look stupid, and after all the whinging over Ashley Cole tapping up Chelsea....hahahahahaaa......Lets see Fifa investigate this.....you never know, Arsenal may be docked points ,now that would be irony........ :ewan:

First of all, we all know about the source :boohoo: Secondly, it hasn't even been proven and some people are having orgasms at the slightest possibility of it being true.

thats right they are.....much like gooners were doing when the boot was on the other foot........nothing was proven then but that never stopped ppl from demanding points deductions to expulsion from the Champions League. You lot like to dish it out but you just cant take it .........this has really made my day......... :ewan:

those articles are irrelevant....the fact is that Wenger actually flew out to Brazil to meet up with him to discuss a possible move, WITHOUT having sought permission from Seville first. That is known in football circles as "tapping up".Oh dear oh dear what an idiot Mr Wenger is......... :)

It is relevant because you implied that Wenger influenced Baptista into rejecting Sevilla's contract when in fact he was already looking to leave.

dont matter that Baptista put out the feelers to Arsenal.....Wenger still broke the rules by speaking to him without Seville's permission. As in the Ashley Cole case remember?Cole approached Chelsea but Chelsea were also found to be in the wrong for actually meeting with Cole without Arsenals permission.Yhis is exactly the same thing.I just cant believe that Wenger would be so blatently stupid so soon after acting holier than thou during the Cole case.If you wasn't a gooner ,you would find this as hilarious as the rest of us do.It wont be the FA dealing with it either,it will be Fifa,so dear old David Dein wont be able to influence anything this time.Sorry if i appear to be gloating. Its probably because i am.......... :ewan:

The only thing to come out of this will be Baptista holding an Arsenal jersey in a press conference.

Hmmm.... everyone does that though. Alex Ferguson is famous for going to the player's houses and meeting them. He's invited young players to his OT all the time without the teams permission. Players are allowed social lives. As long as no contract negotiations went on there's no problem with it. Although it comes down to whether some did go on.

Didn't Mourinho admit in a press conference meeting Adriano in Milan and "improving his Portuguese"? :boohoo: :ewan:

Maybe Wenger was simply trying to learn Portuguese :jambo:

Del Nido is just trying to get as much as he can from Arsenal. Just look at the things he said. First he said that another Prem team came in and bid for Baptista(he doesn't mention who but he always mentions Arsenal's bid) and now he's trying to blackmail Arsenal by threatening to go to FIFA.
