seems like kapono's contract is 4 years $20m... and 4th year could be an option

carroll was one of the first targets but colangelo opted for kapono instead..
Carroll said the Toronto Raptors expressed immediate interest in him when free agency began Sunday, but the Raptors filled that need by coming to terms with ex-Bobcat Jason Kapono. Kapono, who played for Miami last season, will reportedly receive a head-turning four-year, $20 million contract.

Not sure, brah. Watched a ton of 'em when he played college ball and in my opinion, his game hasn't evolved one bit since then. He's a phenomenal stroker from just about every spot on the court if he's set and not really in motion. With the rise in salaries and the going rate for pure shooters ever increasing, I'm not extremely shocked that we dumped our entire funds on 'em.

He's not gonna help with our woeful defence/rebounding one bit, you know? Which ******* pisses me off to know end since we've got a team full of chuckers, but we'll see.

Also, we don't have anyone who commands anywhere near the attention that a Wade/Shaq combo does, so we'll see how he adjusts to more minutes/one-on-one defending.

my mistake, knew it was $20M, don't know why I typed $24M :S but ya, even I was wondering if he was worth $5M/year, but In Colangelo We Trust.

LOL@ Richardson feeling betrayed and hurt by that snafu-like trade to the Bobcats....I expect some serious malingering and general locker-room uneasiness, man.

Playin' in Cali, in one of the most fun and beautiful offenses in the league..........BOOM! Yer now all of a sudden playing in a ******* ****hole of a city, and for an even ****tier organization, man.

I sure as **** would be throwing up a hissy fit too, man......that's for sure.

WHAT :|?? Charlotte is gorgeous, where the f*ck did you get the impression that it is a s*ithole of all things?

Speaking of which Richardson is excited about coming to Charlotte according to this article:

http://www.contracostatimes.com/sports/ci_6293697

He feels betrayed because he was always told that he was a key asset by Mullin and then he got traded without even being told. He seems like a great person though and I'm sure he will come to Charlotte with a great attitude. I see him, Wallace (still praying we re-sign him), Okafor, Felton and company doing great things in the East for a long time.

Understood.

My apologies for speaking ill of your city, brah. I was only going by my longheld and unwise preconceived notions of the place that I've always had in my head ever since my family and I drove through it roughly 12 summers ago on a cross country road trip. And also from what I've heard from relatives who live close to the Carolinas.

I was really attacking the club more than anything else and the city got tossed in along with it, you know? And in my opinion, making a move from what I consider to be the best part of the country for someone of his ilk (young and stupidly wealthy) to Charlotte....I mean, CMON....it's like switching to K-Mart after years of shopping at Bloomingdales. And to be fair, aside from NY, just about every state would come off lookin' like that when compared to Cali.

That's because the road runs through what used to be a ghetto, it's been redeveloped now. I know, I'm from that ghetto :(.

Antawn Jamison was in the paper today talking about how he'd love to come home to Charlotte (he grew up here and went to college up in Chapel Hill) and play. I'd like to have him down here. He's running his yearly summer camp right now.

He might wanna play here but I don't see it happening anytime soon. With the J-Rich contract, Wallace's new contract done we now have to focus on re-signing Okafor to an extension. With our current roster I think we are definitely a playoff team in the East.

I think room in the front court would be freed up by getting rid of Softy (Brezec).

We'll have cap room for him.

He'd also serve as a veteran presence in the team.

I prefer Pillow.

I really hope May or Dudley can play PF for us this year because I don't know what we're gonna do if we have to go a whole season with Brezec at C.

Won't be Dudley. More of a wing at this level I think.

You never know man, the East lacks those big PFs that are on every single West team it seems. If Al Jefferson can do it why not Dudley? He led the ACC in rebounding last season and he would be a mis-match on offense with his good perimeter shot.

Has no real leap to speak of.

Like Bill Simmons said, that is probably one of the worst deals in the history of the NBA.
