^^^ I love you, brah. But you wouldn't be making such a ridiculous statement if you had watched even an iota of college ball.......I mean, we've got players who are going in the early to late 20s and even in some cases second rnd, who'd in any other year go in the high to low lotto positions, man......this draft is stacked beyond belief. Very comporable to 03, and maybe even '96.

I mean, cmon, man.....sheesh!

5. Boston - Yi Jianlian

Danny Ainge really wants Yi I guess. I don't really understand it, but I guess it makes some sense. Corey Brewer, Jeff Green, or Joakim Noah could go here but as of right now I think Yi has the biggest shot out of all four. Keep an eye on Boston as well. Incidentally, this could just be a smoke screen to get Chicago or Golden State to trade up for Yi.

No way this ****er goes that high.....just a gut feeling here

7. Minnesota - Spencer Hawes

McHale apparently sees a lot of himself in Spencer Hawes and promised to draft him here. Not 100% sure, but it seems pretty close to a lock.

same with this clown....here's your pussy right here, bro. Not Fazekas. You talk about someone with all the God given physical attributes in the world yet absolutely no heart, temerity and grit necessary for his position, it's him.

8. Charlotte - Corey Brewer

Wouldn't be surprised to see them take Noah, especially if they feel they can draft a solid 2 guard with the #22 pick, but I think Brewer is too hard to pass on, especially after Morrison's floptastic season. Look for Phoenix to trade for this pick. I haven't heard anything specifically, but the Suns are desperate to get below the luxury tax threshold next season and the Bobcats have the capspace to absorb a big contract in a trade. The Suns are also aggressively looking to trade into the top 10 to draft Noah (or Brewer). They have a scheduled workout with both of them two days before the draft, which Noah and Brewer would never do unless the Suns let them know they were trying very hard to trade up into the top 10. I could see the Suns essentially trading Shawn Marion for this pick. Or maybe Diaw and some other crap/picks.

LOL........Marion (if you wanna talk sabermetrically, this dude just might be the #1 player in the league).....involved in a salary dump situation and only gets you the 8th pick? In my opinion, he fetches you the third pick with ease.....and even KG almost straight up

9. Chicago - Joakim Noah

They really want Yi, but Noah is definitely #2 on their draft board. Fits in perfectly with what they want to do. If the Suns do trade up ahead of them and take Noah, they will be really pissed.

he wont go as low as nine......wanna bet, brah?

10. Sacramento - Jeff Green

The Kings are basically the worst franchise in the NBA right now and could use anything. I hear it's between Noah, Hawes, and Green at this point, and the previous picks make this an easy choice as Green is probably the BPA.

same scenario........alien like measurements coupled with his fantastic workouts.......nigga won't drop that low imo.

11. Atlanta - Javaris Crittenton

I guess he is getting a long look from Hawks brass, the coaches were raving about him and whatnot. They say that he seems like a true point, whereas Acie Law is more of a scorer and they don't need scoring from the point. Blah blah blah blah. This pick addresses their point guard need with either Crittenton or Law. It could also be moved to Portland for Jarrett Carlos, but I don't know why the Blazers would do it for who's left on the board.

[no way this headless chicken goes that high.....again, he's got all the God given talent in the world interms of his physical attributes, but he's nowhere near being a PG.....this ******* headless chicken was probably one of the worst pointmen that I saw in the tourney, bro. Absolutely no vision and distributing sense.....weak, weak B-BALL IQ!/B]

16. Washington - Julian Wright

This just seems like a Best Player Available pick. No one left really blows you away, but Wright has lottery ability and getting him here softens the risk.

goes higher than this.

18. Golden State - Thad Young

Best Player Available here, and he's super athletic and could play in Golden State. They don't really have a true 3 anyway, all of their wings are more 2's.

should also go higher

26. Houston - Nick Fazekas

Apparently Fazekas is a lights out shooter (we all knew that) and would look good next to Yao. Also the new Houston GM I guess, is into some sort of basketball sabermetrics and LOVES Nick Fazekas. If this pussy goes in the first round I'm going to be really damn pissed. He's Steve Novak, who by the way, the Rockets already have. I'm pretty sure about this one.

[Nick's not soft, man. I realize that he doesn't play in the strongest of conferences, but he's no pussy. Good footwork, battles hard down-low, very soft hands that allow 'em to finish cherry-pickin opportunities.....cmon. He totally deserves to be picked in the early 20s imo./B]

29. Phoenix - Daequon Cook

Best player on the board. This pick is probably for sale for straight cash homey, but if not I don't see why they wouldn't take a young shooting guard who can knock down open shots and has a lot of potential, but has yet to realize any of it.

no way that he goes this low......any other year and we're talkin high lotto imo

I want to agree with you and think he's a good shot to Chicago at #9, but until I hear differently Ainge's love takes it.

7. Minnesota - Spencer Hawes

same with this clown....here's your pussy right here, bro. Not Fazekas. You talk about someone with all the God given physical attributes in the world yet absolutely no heart, temerity and grit necessary for his position, it's him.

No, no, no, no. Hawes is the man.

First of all, the T-Wolves don't agree, otherwise the deal would have already been done. The Suns ARE dumping salary, but it is probably Boris Diaw and Raja Bell right now. I don't think they get this pick though.

9. Chicago - Joakim Noah

he wont go as low as nine......wanna bet, brah?

Do not want to bet. I have him going to Memphis as of this second.

10. Sacramento - Jeff Green

same scenario........alien like measurements coupled with his fantastic workouts.......nigga won't drop that low imo.

Yeah, I could see him going to the Celtics at 5 or possibly the Bucks at 6. Don't see him in Minnesota, and I don't think the Bobcats would take him over Corey Brewer, but we'll see.

11. Atlanta - Javaris Crittenton

[no way this headless chicken goes that high.....again, he's got all the God given talent in the world interms of his physical attributes, but he's nowhere near being a PG.....this ******* headless chicken was probably one of the worst pointmen that I saw in the tourney, bro. 1) He's local.

2) You are absolutely right, but how smart do you think Billy Knight (or is it King) is? He's the guy who promised Sheldon Williams at #5 last year when he could have probably traded out of the lottery and picked him.

3) From what I've read they like him maybe just a hair more than Acie Law. They're definitely going point guard here, and the sense I get from the Hawks and also everyone else, is that Law can't play point. He's a shooting guard in a point guard's body.

16. Washington - Julian Wright

goes higher than this.

Detroit's pick is locked with Stuckey I think, and the Clips are going for Law if he's there, but otherwise this is where Wright ends up. I could also see him potentially in Philly (but think Thornton is the better pick) or Sacramento (if Green is gone). However, the scuttlebutt around the league is that scouts are starting to really doubt him because they just don't see a position. He can't shoot at all, and he's just not a 4.

18. Golden State - Thad Young

should also go higher
Definitely better than the pick, but I just don't know who takes him. Washington is very possible if Julian is off the board, New Jersey could happen, but they are really eyeing a PF. I think you are noticing the talent here, and saying "he's better than #18 overall" and complaining about the pick, but there is a lot of talent here. Who drops? Smith isn't that good, but I think the Nets go big no matter what, Crittenton possibly, but that's only one guy. That just lifts Thad up two spots. Remember, Josh Smith went #17 overall and his talent was OBVIOUS coming out of high school. Thad has a lot of the same skills and a lot of the same weaknesses as J-Smoove.

26. Houston - Nick Fazekas

[Nick's not soft, man. I realize that he doesn't play in the strongest of conferences, but he's no pussy. Good footwork, battles hard down-low, very soft hands that allow 'em to finish cherry-pickin opportunities.....cmon. He totally deserves to be picked in the early 20s imo.

I will always stand by this, Nick Fazekas is the biggest bitch I have ever seen on a basketball court. He is the ****tiest 20/10 guy in any league ever. He shirks from contact and competition. He sucked in the Tournament in 2006, and to prove he wasn't the bitch he showed he was then, he was a bitch again this year and let Sessions and Kemp carry the team.

Expect to see that a LOT more times.

29. Phoenix - Daequon Cook

no way that he goes this low......any other year and we're talkin high lotto imo

He's no high lottery pick, but very few shooting guards are. I hear there are major concerns about him essentially being dropped from the Ohio State rotation at the end of last year. He's better than this absolutely and there's no way he slides out of the first round, but there is a lot of talent and he could be hurt by it. I'm hearing him to the Knicks and the Jazz. Could also see Phoenix's earlier pick.

I'm thinking about live blogging the Draft, would anyone pay attention?

I'd be in the living room catching it on tv..

ps... I hope those calderon rumours are just rumours...

I could see it happening. Julian Wright seems like a Rich Man's Garbajosa, and Calderon could be replaced pretty easily, especially with the Raptor's overseas scouting. TJ is the starter, why not give up Calderon?

Hawks would NEVER do it though.

Bobby

The Legend
From what I hear, Brewer is who we're looking at the strongest. (besides B Wright who we have NO chance at)

I'd love to see him here, he's talented as hell and a great defender.

If we draft Brandan Wright I'm gonna puke all over my television. Corey Brewer on the other hand (Y)

Personally though I'd trade both picks for a solid veteran like Jason Richardson.

So far:

boston got totally played by the sonics
ny with randolph but get rid of stevie franchise and a promising channing frye

both north western teams are pushing very hard for the playoffs next season

*on a side note, b. wright selected with the bobcats as yet another unc player with them. they need to deal somebody soon and get some veteran blood in there. meanwhile, josh mcroberts is sitting on his boney ass through 22 picks...NY is on the clock.

Brandan Wright traded for Jason Richardson? Interesting, but does this mean they are not resigning Gerald Wallace? Neither can really shoot, both are merely adequate. And don't you need the post presence of Wright, even if the only reason you took him was to sell tickets to Tar Heel fans? (I like Wright, but that's the truth).

nice blog Shifty... looks like you're not doing the 2nd round... well.. I'm not too interested in the draft this year anyway since my raptors aren't in it..

What are you talking about man???? Wright was yet another forward on our roster, by trading him for JRich we now have a very good veteran at the 2. He's established and imagine him and Wallace playing defense, running the floor and finishing? We have our shooters: Matt Carroll and Walter Hermmann (and hopefully Morrison if he ever develops). We just needed a solid veteran added to all the youth on our team and we got him with JRich.

Agreed, in the east you don't really need a great big man to get through to the finals. This reminds me of a certain player named Kobe Bryant getting traded by the Charlotte franchise to a west coast team. Now I'm not saying that B. Wright is on the same level of Kobe but it would be interesting to see how it turns out.

I honestly think Dudley is trade bait, he's not exactly loved in the Carolinas.

Nah we're keeping Dudley. I'm tired of all this crap. Once a player is in the NBA he is in the NBA, he's no longer in college. I wasn't upset that we drafted Wright b/c he was a unc player but because he was a forward, a position that we really didn't need (plus I really don't think he will be that good).

I think getting a solid veteran player and resigning Wallace were the two most important things on the Bobcats list for this summer. One down, one to go. We can offer Wallace the most money out of any team and so far all the right things have been said by both parties so it is likely that it will happen.

Felton
Richardson
Wallace
May
Okafor

If May never recovers from his knee issues then we need to look for a C and move Okafor to the PF spot. I don't think Voskuhl and Brezec will do.

Anyway I'm happy with the draft after this trade :)(Y)

The only similarity between those two deals is the fact that they were both trades by a Charlotte team on draft nights. That's where it starts and where it ends. Seriously...

Randolph, Randolph, Randolph (H)

A nice post presence and about time Isiah means some bussines. Randolph and Curry gives us a nice young duo that with Starburies game and David Lee's carisma will make the Knicks much better.

I am excited about this trade, we got rid of Francis contract and let Frye leave after he had an off season. That can come back to hunt us but Randolph is worth the gamble.

Deisler

Red Card [Being a douche] exp. 22/1/06
Well his last years stats are pretty impressive, but most importantly he is young. He is deffinitively the best move the Knicks have made in a long time.

2006-07 Statistics

PPG 23.6
RPG 10.10

Born: Jul 16, 1981
Height: 6-9 / 2,06
Weight: 215 lbs. / 97,5 kg.
Years Pro: 5

Even career wie he has decent numbers:

PPG 16.0
RPG 7.7

Now you tell me if his contract is not worth it. C'monnnn
