if you were in my situation what would you do??

for me I had 2 options

1: keep denying the person I was, not only to myskf but to the girlfriend I had at the time, in effect misleading her as to the person I really am

2: admit to being the person I am, tell the girlfriend and hopemthat she understand by knowing the person that I am, and seing throuigh the sexuality and hopefully making a go of things with her without having any secrets from each other

as yo can guess i went for option 2, and no the fact that I am bi was not the reason for us eventually splitting up, that occured over 6 months after letting her know, and she has since wanted me back again, so i don't think she had any doubts about the person I really am once you get through the lables

I can't possibly fathom the thought of being in your position, sorry.

I will never preach anything but war on homosexuals, it's my personal feeling towards them, like it or not.

that is the part I don't understand

I completly understand everything else that you say and can respect that, but ehy preach war on something that oesn;t effect your day to day life

no1 is saying that you ahve to be gay or even get on with anyone gay

maybe I am sounding somewhat idealistic, but i don;t see 2 guys being together playing any part in your life

and for the record, I am very good friends with a number of jamaicans, they know about my sexuality, and choose to see through the lable to the person I am, they share the same views as you, but we just avoid the subject of relationships, and we get on fine

fair enough we will chage it slightly

you ar ein a relationship with 1 girl, and you fancy another,

do you

1: hide it from the girl you are currently with and hope that the feelings will dissapear over time, and that she never finds out that you were hiding something from her

2: tell her how you feel and hope that it won;t effect your relationship

that is the equivalent to the position i was in, but it wasnlt 1 single person i was finding attractive but a whole different group,

i chose to go down the honesty route, and I am still happy with my decision that I never decieved anyone

No, I'm mimicking my culture, and nationality.

The music I listen to is Jamaican, and that's all I'll ever be. I love who I am, whether you like it or not.

so in other words you are saying that the jamiicans i know and get on well woth are not proud to be jamaican??

as i know that is anything but the case, one of them follows the jamaican national side to every single match around the world, mainly as his son plays for them but he is hugely proud to be jamaican and of his heritage, this does not mean that me and him cannot be friends

That's good for you and him. There will be the small minority that accepts, or at least tries to accept the fact that you're gay, that is a given.

I'll tell you though 99% of Jamaicans, wouldn't be too friendly towards you. :ewan:

once again, i am not gay

and no he can;t accept that I'm not straight, so we simply don;t talk about that and it gets forgotten. He is no more accpting of that than you are, but he was prepeared to put that to one side and get to know the real me, which is in reality all that I can ask of people,

don;t assume that I act in 1 particular way just because i am nto straight, I will tell you now that any assumptions that you make about my day to day life based on my sexuality, wil be a million miles away from reality

Look, I don't expect you to understand why I don't like you, or why I wiuh bad things on you, just the same as I'm not gonna understand why you choose to be gay. It's not just you either, I don't like homosexuals, be it white, black, pink, Jamaican, English, American, whatever. I just don't have the tolerance to accept you as a normal member of society, because you disgust me.

People choose to accept you all they want, but I can't, and I guess to many here that makes me a terrible person, but I don't really care. All I can ever be is who I am, just as all you can ever be is bisexual (got it right this time, I guess).

You call yourself a Christian and you can't respect the Bible? You can't accept the Bible's stance on homosexuality and the institution of marriage? Lifelong Christian? Give me a f*cking break! I'm no religious nut, but ffs man! Being a Christian should be a bout respecting the Bible and it's practices and teachings as questionable as some of them might be.

Let me tell you something, Rasta.

I personally don't care about what any of you might think about me as a person. Call me immature, old fashioned or whatever the f*ck you like, but I f*cking hate gays!

Any of the rest of you can tolerate them all you want, but I can't. I have different values and attitudes that I've been brought up to respect and follow, and accepting a faggot in my life is NOT one of them!

You tell 'em Dennis brederin, don't ever let a chi-chi battyman keep a nigga down. There's a rat in me kitchen what am I gonna do? There's a rat in me kitchen what am I gonna go? I'm gonna fix that rat thats what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna fix that rat. :boyaka:

different sexualities and their acceptance in football

at least in brazil, the acceptance seems to be very low.

i know some people who work with football (mostly journalists) and they say it seems there are lots of gay players around, it's just that they (the players) hide it basically because there's too much discrimination.

rodrigo paiva is very experienced in the world of football. he works with the sport since the early 90s and currently he is with the brazilian nt. here's what he said about homosexuality in football in a recent interview (my translation is kind of poor but i hope you can understand it):
there was a time when it had that homosexuality stuff in the youth teams, managers used to go there to see the little boys... an environment dominated by machismo -- with many people coming from the suburb, more conservative -- reprehends that kind of behaviour since the beginning. so, i think gay in football, in those 15 years, i've met only one and a half. that half one i'm not sure if he is. it's a problem if one is gay. how you're going to admit it and play for the national team? you would have to give more interviews about the theme [homosexuality] than about football. some players can have such attitude, like beckham, who paints his nails, but here in brazil, i don't know. in the 'earrings ages' it's already a problem. the football is a very conservative 'environment'.

------------------------------------------------------------
not related to the subject, but here's an interesting he said concerning the world cup 2002 final:
felipão is very conservative. for him, the player's boots must be black. ronaldo shows up with that haircut on the day before the final match. then nike gives him a silver boot. dude, felipão went to his bedroom and he went crazy. i told him: "damn, felipão, if ronaldo's cut his hair that style and he's going to wear boots with that colour, it's because he's going to play and to play ******* well!"

since my translation is bad, i let the original last sentence here (where's hugo to translate it better? :(): "porra, felipão, se o ronaldo cortou o cabelo desse jeito e vai usar uma chuteira dessa cor é porque ele vai jogar e jogar pra caralho!"

i understand that you can;t accept me being bi, but in the same way what I can;t understand is why you wish bad things on me,

to me anyone who wishes bad things onto any other human being has got psychological problems. I just can;t see how you can justify wishing bad things onto 1 particular group

I am sure that if I came out and said that I wish bad things on all jamaicans, then you would be the 1st to call me racist, I really don;t see any difference between racism and active homophobia.

and another point, I have not chosen to be bi, it is not a matter of choice of who you get attracted to, the only choice is what you decide to do about it, living a lie for the hole of your life, or admitting and facing up to the fact that I am not straight

that is without a doubt the case

we just need to look back to the only ever footballer to come out as gay in the English game

Justin Fashanu faced so much discrimnation that he ended up comitting suicide

i also have it on good authority that at least 2-3 of todays preofessional footballers, one who was at Leicester last sesaon (and may still be there, as idon;t have any names) are bi-sexual, and their team mates are aware of the situation, just they keep it all secret due to the discrimantion he would be subjected to
