I just cant understand why everyone says that Sevilla totally owned us. They really scored every chance they had. We missed alot of chances and we missed some tactical decisions, but still we were defenitly the better side. I'm worried for the Madrid derby though. Schuster at least has to consider playing Fernandito with Diarra.
Because they did....check this....
We all know football is not necesarily about who attacks the most but about who display the better tactics, at the very least you must admit that Sevilla played with the poise of a team that has played 5 finals in 15 months, that they out-coached us and that they were tactically more sound than us....that third goal we had was more the result of us lobbying high balls over the area than the result of any concerted efforts....Sevilla went out there and did their thing against a team lost for ideas and tactical organization....
You know what teams play like we did today?....freaking segunda b teams and stuff man, we might have all the talent in the world but we were completely lacking in tactics and technique...I dont know if what Schuster is teaching these guys is too hard or his tactics really suck but it was embarrasing for me as a Madrid fan. Will I start calling for his head??? no, but will I start being a little more critical sure thing....
Here is my pro/cons
Pro:
Drenthe!!! The kid has got a thrid and fourth lung, at times he took over the game with sheer power, yes, he messed up a lot but the guy has a desire to be a protagonist a leader and a go to man, I think he liked the big team, big game big responsability atmosphere of Madrid...he showed it....
Pepe/Canna
omebody explained it best, the fact that our flanks where suffering showed in the middle and Sevilla exploited it...but the two CB's did not have horrible individual games, I say in more games and time they will be fine; I did see Canna a little on the slow side at times, Metzelder could help that.
Saviola: The dude wants to be a starter and he should be a starter....He plays with passion and courage and he's got goal in him; we need his contribution while Rudd recovers, cause Rudd was not even at 70%
Cons
Raul; ok, I'm thru with this, you guys know how I feel, Raul MUST sit. He knows it, Schuster knows it, Madrid knows it....look the guy is one of the great legends of Madrid and Spanish football, but he is two steps behind the faster players of this generation....nuff said
Defensive Scheme: WTF!! that is all I have to say on that, we had none, our CB's kept getting beat to the spot time and time again, because of poor coverage in other areas....If we play the likes of Leo Messi, Or even Sevilla again (Duda hurt us two games in a row) or Valencia, who have fast wingers we are toast..
Tactics: Schuster you need to get this right, it is his reponsability to make a group of great players a team...Sneijder for example looked like he needed instructions the whole game, Drenthe was playing his own game....Robihno was trying to be everything; Ramos barely played his Position cause Robbihno was missing half the time....I could go on and on, it was not good...
We have the players, we got the right attitude....we need it all to come together!!...
HALA MADRID!
