It seems as if my lineup upthere was a little incorrect..apparently, Mr. Raul will be starting, Sneijder behind Him and Guti gets the bench...Torress will be starting on the left......

Needless to say I was afurious when I found out because well, althought I appreciate everything Raul has meant to Madrid we cannot deny the man is out of form, has been for some time and should not be starter anymore, beyond his years of service to the club......also Guti has been the most consistent besides some of the defenders, he should be getting the start with Sneijder; Sneijder has said plenty that he plays very well at the Second forward position, he has a lot of goal in him and the ability to make more and better passes for both of the guys in the wings, and for RVN......Schuster needs to man up and sit down Raul...if Raul is the captain and the Madridista he says he is; he will understand that some things must happen for the good of the team as opposed to his own good...


Also; Schuster called Salgado instead of Marcelo as part of the 18 players for the match......WHY??! Salgado is done, has been done and it is time to leave him a nice wide door for him to leave the club

Raul starting? I never would have guessed(:/) Really he needs to sit. I think the club are waiting for him to retire soon so they don't have to hurt his feelings. Guti is not consistant and sitting him is appropriate. Bring him in the 65th minute and he's magic, there lies his strength. I am curious to see Schneider and Drointhe play..haven't seen them in the last game. With Ruud back we may have a chance. I think we may fall a little short though as we are still gelling. Formwise we are light years away from greatness. I predict 2-1 Seville.

Orgullo; what is most upseting to me about Raul is that I believe he has a lot of say on wether he plays or not.....He should be man enough to say, alright I need to sit.....Guti is not consistent but lets be honest he has been some of the best we've had in the pre-season....why not try him and give him the start with Sneijder.....

Look El Buitre was told to sit at one point, DiStefano was told to sit.....we need to stop thinking about hurting his feelings.....I am just upset about it...If I was in Madrid today I would be booing Raul everytime he touched the ball so he could get the point, it is time to sit down and let la cantera take over or some of the other guys....I am that mad about it; I predict we lose 2-1 as well, and partly because of Raul's lack of form

Wow, lots of great Sevilla talk going on in here! :hump:

A couple of things... first, it would be a joke if Puerta played for Real Madrid. He was shit for us last year, especially towards the end of the season. He's had an occasional flare of brilliance, but it's not enough to make up for all of the balls he loses each game. If Real Madrid take him it proves your scouts don't watch video and just read tabloids.

Secondly, I'm starting to have my own doubts about Schuster... Raul is a probable starter and Guti isn't even on the squad for the match? Guti always destroys us, and Raul hasn't shown himself worth to play for Almeria.

expected lineup:

Casillas; Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Cannavaro, Torres; Diarrá, Robinho, Drenthe, Sneijder; Raúl and Van Nistelrooy.

I like this lineup, except i want Saviola in stead of Raúl to start. but it´s a big game so i hope 'El Capitan' steps up like he do in the the bigger games.

Looks like a good line-up. Lets hope Sneijder and Drenthe do good. But our man for tonight could well be Ruud. I guess he is soo important for this team that its not even funny. Lets hope for a good game and that we win it in the end!! ;)

Yea, ironic that El Buitre sat for Raul! Now Raul should sit for...whoever. He just doesn't have it anymore, period. I hope he retires soon because his career is just getting worse and worse...by next year he'll probably average a goal every 15 matches! He should take a job in the front office for sure. He's my favorite all time player but times up. Would love to see him stay w/ the club in another capacity. Honestly, Guti is much better coming in as a sub. That's his strength and should be used that way. Lets see what we can do today

We are secure enough to point out Sevillas good management. I think this game will cement my thoughts on Schuster. I know we need to give the team time to gel and I don't expect us to win but if we play badly then I think it's gonn alook like a purely rebuilding season for us, waiting for next year. I just ask for a good game from us, win or lose. Lets see.

1-3 for Sevilla. I wont say a thing. :@

EDIT: Half Time. 2-3 for Sevilla. Ok, what can I say. We got countered away one time. And they had a very lucky first goal. And then there was a hand ball of Pepe and the ref gave a penalty. Really thats the only thing Sevilla has done. They didnt have any more chances. We gave 3 goals away way too easily.
Now to the some positive notes: Drenthe scored a cracking goal. I guess this one will come in the Top10 goals of the year. Damn, what a goal. The second came from a header from Fabio Cannavaro (:D). Pepe and Cannavaro are getting used to eachother slowly. (they didnt look good on Sevilla's second goal though. Also Ramos shouldnt have let that Duda guy get passed him that easily) Pepe showed some real speed and strenght! Best man on the field is easily Robinho. He embaressed Alves with some moves and really looks like the Robinho we were waiting for for a long long time. Im not gonna be too negative this time, because we are playing pretty good. We are just unlucky to be behind.

2-3 right now at half-time. We are not playing well, it seems like there is no tactic or formation. Everyone is playing wherever they want to and they scored their goals with some ease.

BTW Drenthe scored an amazing goal, just a brilliant strike. Hopefully Saviola comes in for Raul, we need some speed upfront.

Edit some morethoughts here. Torres is having a horrible game, he offers little in attack and is getting torched on the D. Marcelo should be our LB from now on, he does better against fast paced wingers and offers more going forward. Also Robinho is taking his free role to far ( Ramos is doing all the offense and defence on the right side which is leaving gaps behind him that Duda is taking advantage of ). Robinho needs to stick to the right and help out Ramos more instead of just leaving him open. So far Sevilla are owning our fullbacks.

How much time should they give Schuster? And I'm not talking about the lack of wins, that's not the issue. Lack of ideas are more like it. Tactics seem very inferior at first glance. I for one would have him stay the whole season, minimum. We've been through the revolving coach door too often. Lets give in to 1 guy, good or bad, I don't care anymore.

Embarrasing game. Can't remember a game where we lost our cool so much. Ramos, if he could of, would of ripped everyones head off out there. Defense is awful vs. top notch opponents like Sevilla which at this point leaves little hope for CL this season. On the bright side, I thought Drenthe had a good game. On the down, Alves had total ownage on Robinho. I think he might be worth all that cash they are talking about. On another downside, see Schusters face throughout the game? It was a look of uncertainty and and no confidance. Just my honest opinions. Congrats Sevilla.
