Official PC Patch Details & Installation Issues

Dis is retarded. I clicked on the PATCH IS AVAILABLE button and after a few seconds they said the patch is installed. Then i cant close the window. And i tried FIFA but doesnt seem to have any difference. Help please?

Actually why does EA release a patch after releasing the game just for those basic vital game features. Should they have made it before releasing the game?

Ah great patch, no support for my saitek p880 controller. PES has it. This is just such a poor job by EA it's unbelievable. If your a die hard fifa fan, you still have to see this. Why would you possible do that?

Is there anyway i can verify if mine is patched? I tried the link and it says that the patch is installed, yet there arent any changes to my game. Can anyone post a screenie showing the new menu or something?

you have to wait until is done installing before you can close the window... so after it sais is installed.. wait a couple of minutes until is done...

I left mine for 25 minutes after it sayed "Patched Installed", it didn't do anything, and when i try to close it, it doesn't want to.

Solution To Patch Installation!!

1.Use disk 1 and let the autorun menu pop up
2. Click on check for update
3. You will be brought to the patch update webpage and choose your location( Europe or N.A)
4. Click on the green thingy button and when it says download patch click it again.
5. It begins downloading without showing progress. Don't worry just wait.
6. When the button shows patch installed, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT immediately close the window. Just let it stay there for a further 5-8 minutes just to be safe after you see the patch installed displayed. This is for precaution(it really pays to be safe)
7. After the waiting, you should close the window. It should close fine without any lockups.
8. Run the game and you should see the difference.

yup, the patch is around 17megs, i was impatient and kept closing the window after it says 'patch installed', and realised that the patch is not installed.

estimate the time your internet connection will take to download a 17meg file..that would be the time it will take to patch fifa2004.

now my patch is installed, but i still can't change my buttons and where is the save replay button?

FIFA 2004 FIX Patch - The Right Way To Install It!

First of all, enter here: ftp://ftp.ea.com/pub/easports/patches/fifa2004/pc/ now get into the folder of the right language (it depends on your FIFA 2004 main languge).
After that, transfer (copy, download) all of the files into the selected folder on the first step.
Good now, that we've all those files directly on our comp what we're going to do is, start the Installing of the patch.

To Install this Fix Patch, all you have to do is run the "home2.html" (be careful there are 2 HTMLs called HOME.html and HOME2.html) click on 'Check For Patch' and then, when it says 'Patch Available' / 'Download Patch' click on it, wait like 3 minutes (depending on you Internet Connection. Mine is ADSL 512) and you'll see a new message as button saying 'Patch installed'. That's it!

that means it is still downloading the patch.. are you on 56k? if that's the case it will take more than 25 mins cos the patch is 17megs.

ok i've got the patch installed.
the menu has options for IP/Lan game and remapping of controls.

problems:
1) I can't remap my buttons. it just hangs when I tried to assign a new button to an action.

2) there is still no save replay function in instant replays.

I haven't install the patch just yet. But I want to know, for those who succeed, what are the differences the patch made?

works, great - but no save replay and can't change controlls (game locks up). And I would like to see in-game music

It worked first go for me (but that's ADSL) - seems like 56K people have trouble...man, even EA's patch has bugs....

It adds the Detail level option to the Options menu and allows Controller configuration and also when you do a reply you can now save it by clicking on a little disk icon BUT now they've removed the function to name your own replays (always taking good features out) - so they auto-name the replays based on who you are playing against and what time the replay was e.g. SHefW v ShefU 45'

crap, but at least we can save now....

where is that little disc icon you're talking about?? i cant see it
