how can I get feedback when I want to? Like in smells like teen spirit there, after the solo Kurt holds a note so long it starts to feed. I've tried it, but I can't get it to work. How can I do this?

I hate Santana, can't stand the guy. I think he's a terrible guitar player.

Technically he's a brilliant guitarist but every single song is the same, always throwing in stupid licks in between every line and word that is sung by whoever he's doing yet another duet with.

I was listening to Santana during this World music award thing where he played a couple of songs, and I noticed the same thing; "always throwing in stupid licks in between every line and word that is sung by whoever he's doing yet another duet with". At first it was kinda cool since it was the first time i'd ever listened to Santana, but after the first song and the second had started, it lost it's touch.

Yeah, the stuff he did back in the 60's and 70's was pretty good but now he's gone all cheesy pop. Terrible.

I was just looking through the tabs for Don't tread on me, and I noticed this powerchord: X29XXX

----------------------------------
----------------------------------
-------9-9-9-------------------- -
-9-9-9-2-2-2--9/11-------------- -
-2-2-2--------2/4---12-----7------
----------------------------------

How the hell do I play that?

let me think, eh....
well if the fifth fret on the low e-string is the same as playing the a-string open so try this:

----------------------------------
----------------------------------
-------9-9-9-------------------- -
-9-9-9-x-x-x--9/11-------------- -
-x-x-x-7-7-7--x/x---12-----7------
-7-7-7--------7/9-----------------

yeah, but that's hard with a pick. I don't think I can manage to mute the A string without pushing it to hard and make it ring. But I don't understand how the guy who tabbed the song could make a x29xxx chord. His fingers must be unnaturally long?

Just mute the A string by lightly holding your finger over it. Takes a bit practice but you'll get the hang of it soon.

i actually find it easy enough to mute it. when i'm holding the chord, i use the index finger to mute the a string and use the same finger to hold the note on the e-string.

I think it's easy to mute the last three strings in a chord like 133xxx. However, if the chord is e.g. 7x9xxx, I find the A string hard to mute without squeezing it to hard so it rings. Especially if I need to move from e.g. 7x9xxx to 5x7xxx. But I guess it takes practice, and after another year I'm sure I can say it's easy as well :)
