The other South American powerhouse also being held by European opposition:
Argentina 0-0 Czech Republic

Neither Brazil or Argentina seemed to be creative or lethal enough to find a hole in the big European defenses.

For what i saw and heard the czechs just defended the whole match, different from Poland who had some ambition, Argentina some chances but wasted all them, more likely Argentina should've played more on the wings instead trying to do everything from the center. I think it's evident the czech guys didn't go to Canada with any intention of winning the thing.

terrible finishing from Argentina, they deserved the win based on balance of play. I actually expected more from the Czech's but I think it was obvious that their youth teams aren't up to the same standard as their senior squad. The Argentine keeper almost lost it for them in injury time though, which was kinda retarded..

How come Montreal's games weren't at Molson? The O is such a hole.
The Molson is ancient, and the O is bigger.

PS: Heading out to Toronto now for tonight's game. O CANADA. :D

yeah really looking forward to seeing Lombardo in action! Definitely Canada's player of the future. (H)

Can't wait to watch Portugal-New Zealand tomorrow too, this Portuguese team isn't generally considered one of the title contenders this time so I'm curious to see how they'll perform without the pressure of being a favourite. They should have some crazy support at BMO Field too..

Yeah that was so hillarious, it looked like he was drinking a coffee with the ballboys, then suddenly he sees the czech attacking "oh ****! here they come! *rushes off*". Romero is such a character at times.:funny:

A 0-0 draw but eh we still have chances to lead the group since the other match was 0-0 too, even though i couldn't see anything about the other teams.

Japan is running Scotland off the field, they look like a very good technical side.. currently 2-0 in the 2nd half but the score could easily be 5-0 right now.

we are playing Arsenal football at the moment, we just keep attacking, but do to many moves/passing near the area and then cant score

Bruno Gama scores, brilliant free-kick :amika:
1-0 HT

Gama together with Zequinha and mainly Coentrão (great buy for Benfica) are doing great man, pure quality players.

Spain vs Uruguay

I saw the Spain/Uruguay game live yesterday here in Vancouver. Pretty amazing game. Spain was down 2-0 and tied it up in injury time.
Does anyone here know anything about this Diego Capel guy? He looked very impressive.

Pele is from Guimaraes I think..

yeah, Pele really takes control in midfield, wins a lot of possesion and gets the attack going. Coentrao has been impressive, looks like he's gonna be a great player in the coming years

Pele is from Guimarães.

1-0 HT to us, brilliant FK. New Zealand looks weak. The 3 players on front (Gama, Coentrão and Zequinha) are doing fantastic. Pele is holding very well the midfield.

Senior Squad
he seems likea bright player, he has good control with the balla nd is great at tackling and picking up loose balls, he reminds me of Diarra from Lyon (not the one who is in Real now)

yup he's from Guimarães now, and had a spell with the Benfica B team before.
I did forget to mention him earlier, he's being a beast in the midfield.
