Man pushes would-be suicide off bridge
BEIJING (Reuters) – A Chinese man was pushed off a bridge by an angry passer-by after his threat to commit suicide held up traffic for five hours, Chinese media reported on Saturday.

Retired soldier Lian Jiansheng, 66, broke through a police cordon and reached out to shake the hand of would-be jumper Chen Fuchao before shoving him off the bridge.

"I pushed him off because jumpers like Chen are very selfish. Their action violates a lot of public interests," Lai was quoted as saying by the China Daily newspaper.

"They do not really dare to kill themselves. Instead, they just want to raise the relevant government authorities' attention to their appeals."

Chen, 2 million yuan ($293,200) in debt because of a failed building project, fell 8 metres (yards) onto a partially inflated emergency air cushion and was hospitalized with wrist and back injuries. Lai was detained by police.

Chen was at least the twelfth person since early April to threaten suicide at the same spot, the Haizhu bridge in Guangzhou. But none jumped and -- until Lian gave Chen a helping hand -- none was pushed.

I would do many things for love, but I won't do that... :D

A 25-year-old Egyptian man cut off his own penis to spite his family after he was refused permission to marry a girl from a lower class family, police reported Sunday.

After unsuccessfully petitioning his father for two years to marry the girl, the man heated up a knife and sliced off his reproductive organ, said a police official.

The young man came from a prominent family in the southern Egyptian province of Qena, one of Egypt's poorest and most conservative areas that is also home to the famed ancient Egyptian ruins of Luxor.

The man was rushed to the hospital but doctors were unable to reattach the severed member, the official added citing the police report filed after the incident.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak with the press, added that the man was still recovering in the hospital.

Traditionally, marriages in these conservative part of southern Egypt are between similar social classes and often within the same extended families — and are rarely for love.

Yeah, that'll show them.

Woman Calls Off Wedding after Discovering Fiance is a Porn Star

A woman in the U.K. called off her wedding recently after finding out that her husband to be had starred in several porn movies.

27 year old Haylie Hocking of Bristol was palnning her wedding with her dream man, Jason Brake, who she was led to believe worked as a personal trainer. Brake frequently traveled on weekends, telling her he was working with clients.

Hocking only discovered Brake’s secret life as a porn star after her and a friend searched for strippers online for her bachelorette party and found a pornographic video of her fiance. Hocking confronted the man she had previously called “a thoughtful and passionate lover” and he confessed to his lying and infidelity, saying that his most recent porn movie shoot had only been a couple weeks before.

She immediately called off the wedding, saying she may never be able to trust a man again.

34 year-old MILF with her 25 year-old lover... although she just about qualifies as a cougar, since the rule is "half her age plus 7".
