Thanks CarlosDanger, Though as much as i would like to see this thread reach 1000 pages someday, i don't think this would be the best way to do it. Great discussion though...

I would tend to agree that the Serie A has a very good level of tough hard defensive football, but don't underestimate the quality of Ligue 1.

Have you watched much of it?

Anyway, no need to clutter up more of the Newcastle thread trying to convince about the French league. Just don't be surprised when Bordeaux, Lille and Lyon do really well in the CL again.

ok, i will admit to u that u know more about the french league than me, and i dont watch alot (the bit i do is usually just as ive woken up at 7:00am as thats the only coverage we get on british terrestrial TV :( so i cant really concentrate on it :crazyboy: )! i must admit lyon are impressive now, especially with the coo that was signing kallstrom! also my fave french side are paris saint germain :$ :p yeah i agree! lets get back to our martins chatter!

Honestly? I mean, I was warned of your horrid D, but the odds given to me were just too good in my opinion. All Newcastle has to do for me to collect my money is draw....if they just so happen to win, well, all the better then, but just ******* draw...thas all, man

I am a villa fan so im very happy :bouncy:

Villa deserved the win overall tbh but it was a relativly poor game by both sides and there were very few shots on goal. Not trying to be harsh or anything but newcastle looks well below average atm and they really need to improve otherwise they will struggle but this was sort of the same for you last season so i think you will improve and you are missing so key players.

Starting XI
Where do i start?

- No understanding between the back four
- Only the usual players putting in the effort. Babayaro, Bramble and Carr are not fit to wear the shirt.
- Plenty of possesion but created **** all.

We have until Thursday to bring in another striker, 2 x full backs and a center half or we can enjoy mid-table.

On a plus note the Martins injury is not as bad as first thought.

and that is indeed the only positive we can take out of this game, which is pretty sad.

I really believe that a certain extent you make your own luck. The fact that Newcastle United has so many problems is not so much a question of incredible bad luck, but more the sign of a badly run football club.
