It's almost here!!! I realized it when just a few minutes ago I purchased tickets for the Cavs @ Bobcats game on November 4th . This season the West is looking more loaded than ever and the East (other than a few teams) is looking as unpredictable as ever.
The NBA Europe Tour starts on Thursday so I thought it would be appropriate to open this. Forget waiting until after training camp to give your predictions. Let 'em roll now! here's mine:
EAST
1 - Miami Heat (there is nobody stronger than them in the East)
2 - Cleveland Cavaliers (LeBron will be even better this year)
3 - Chicago Bulls (Wallace should give them that muscle inside they have needed for the last two seasons)
4 - New Jersey Nets (only here because they play in the pathetic Atlantic Division)
5 - Detroit Pistons (will still be good but the Cavs and Bulls will surpass them this season)
6 - Orlando Magic (this team will surprise a lot of people this season)
7 - Washington Wizards (this would make for another Cavs vs. Wizards match-up in the playoffs, that would be nice....)
8 - Charlotte Bobcats (call me crazy but if we stay healthy I don't see why we won't get at least 40 wins this season which is enough to get you in the playoffs in the East most seasons)
WEST
1 - Phoenix Suns (remember them last season? ok now add Amare...)
2 - Dallas Mavericks (championship contenders yet again)
3 - San Antonio Spurs (they will be champions this year if their pattern continues)
4 - Denver Nuggets (see Nets)
5 - Houston Rockets (TMac and Yao MUST be healthy)
6 - Los Angeles Clippers (kept everyone from last season)
7 - Los Angeles Lakers (Kobe is good enough to get them in)
8 - New Orleans Hornets (two words: Chris Paul)
NBA CHAMPIONS
Phoenix Suns
