NBA 2005/2006 Season Thread

Jones and Hughes aren't bag additions! Jones is a one trick pony, Hughes isn't really that good and can't really shoot, Gooden is the absolute worst player that most people think is good in the NBA. I think the East has a lot of good teams and it's very possible that they won't make the playoffs this year; however I will give them the 8 seed over Washington because I forgot Hughes left.

I don't really have to fix my Western predictions because you can easily do it yourselves; instead of predicting how teams will do based on winning arbitrary divisions, I picked the West based on how good the teams are. In my Eastern Conference predictions to do the same thing slide NJ down to 5.

Have fun raising my Elite 8 banner? Thanks, I will. At least Wisconsin players don't leave the school the first chance they get; we actually get to see our best players for 3 years minimum.

Okay let's not hijack this thread. While I have more right than anyone here to talk trash cuz my team actually wins. Who cares if your players stay? They still don't win no matter if they stay or go. And correct me if I'm wrong but did we not have 3 seniors and 3 juniors on last years team? I'd leave school if I had the chance at millions, so would you or anybody. Besides that's how college basketball is these days and it will get much more like that with the age limit because players opting to join huge recruiting classes in order to win a title during their one year stay. I have to study now so stop making lame arguments.

What the hell do you mean they don't win!? We won three straight Big Ten titles prior to last year, and last year we were one game away from the Final Four (and we lost to the National Champions)! Also, what does the 2006 Recruiting class have to do with the NBA? At the most it will help you zero in the 2006 NIT Tournament.

2006 recruiting has nothing to do with this thread, I was addressing $teua in my comments anyway and you had to make a smart ass comment. Next time know your role, wiscy and speak when spoken to.

Don't think you're too high up on that horse. For supposedly being one of the best (if not the best) college basketball program ever, you only have one more NCAA title than we do. Throw in Marquette, and the State of Wisconsin has just as many NCAA titles as your glorious Heels. Humbling? It should be. That's why I'm on the winning bandwagon of Duke.

Your programs have been dead since the 50's, Heels just won the title. End of Story. And do your research kid, we're #2 in All-Time wins. This proves once again that you shouldn't be arguing about **** that you don't know, UNC has 4 titles and Wiscy has a lonely one back in 1940 some **** when my parents werent even born yet. Back then the tournament consisted of only 4 teams anyway, so there you go. So don't even try to argue that we don't have consistency, one title in each of the last 3 decades is better than any other team. That is why you are a bandwagon fan because you can't find solace in your teams poor performances in all sports.

yeah... saw his stats line and wow...

19-15-1 plus 2 steals and 2 blocks
even if he average half of that during the 'regular season' it'll be considered a solid year....

the toronto fans had wanted him at 7th but only knock against him was he has had knee problems (and toronto has a phobia of players with knee problems after the carter injured years)

taking villanueva at 7th was a surprise to everyone but he's doing pretty good in the preseason so far... we kind of have to thank steven a smith for that coz he made villanueva play with a chip on his shoulder and hopefully his high work ethic will continue into the regular season... 2007 is the year that'll define the future of the raptors organization .. lot's of cap space let's just hope we make some 'wise' signings with that

this year though, well let's hope we win that 'gay' lottery :P LOL

What the hell? It wasn't just SAS that criticized the pick, it was EVERYONE! Everyone on every television network, everyone on every website, every "draft expert", every idiot on an internet forum (namely me). And honestly, it was still a bad pick, Danny Granger and Gerald Green are going to be better, but the Raptors lucked out when they grabed Joey Graham. That kid is going to be a stud and if he can't play offense at the very worst he's a Ron Artest level defender.

In a trade that will be announced later Wednesday, Milwaukee has agreed to send swingman Desmond Mason, its 2006 first-round pick and cash considerations to the Hornets for Magloire, an East All-Star in 2004.
