Make America Great Again
JO is back, but no where near 100%, and Tinsley is out I believe. So I'll compromise and say Celtics in 6.

By the way, the Mavs are going off at 12-1 to win the West; sounds like a good gamble to me.

My Predictions

EASTERN CONFERENCE

#1 Miami Heat 4 vs. #8 New Jersey Nets 2 MY PICK: Miami
Be that as it may, Shaq may be roughed up a bit but when the going gets tough, The Diesel gets going. With Flash rested up and the Jones ready to rock I still think that Miami will come out strong and take this series even with an amazing VC and Kidd up against them.

#2 Detroit Pistons 4 vs. #7 Philadelphia 76ers 3 MY PICK: Detroit
They're the reigning champs and I just don't see the Sixers knocking them out. But with Iverson on such form and the Pistons hurting with some injuries it won't be easy. I sort of expect a 7 game series, especially if Webber is around.

#3 Boston Celtics 4 vs. #6 Indiana Pacers 3 MY PICK: Celtics :rockman:
My C's may have lost 2 in a row but Doc really used them to prepare the 2nd team for the playoffs so I don't think those losses really show the state of the team. But with Reggie in his last season I know that the Pacers will give all they've got and their fans will really be rocking when they play at home. But EVEN SO the C's have a better team and a strong bench and I think the men in green will overcome in 7.

#4 Chicago Bulls 2 vs. #5 Washington Wizards 4 MY PICK: Wizards
With Eddy Curry and Luol Deng out I simply don't see the Bulls as strong a contender as they have been all season. But even so their so defensively good that the absence of those 2 can be covered by whose left. But the big 3 of the Wiz coupled with more experience will simply be too much for the Baby Bulls (yes they are STILL Babys ... in the playoffs atleast...)

WESTERN CONFERENCE

#1 Phoenix Suns 4 vs. #8 Memphis Grizzlies 1 MY PICK: Suns
As deep as the Grizzlies are they just don't cut it on the defensive end to stop the high rolling Suns. With Nash back and everyone ready to rumble I see the Suns rolling over the Grizz. Not a sweep, but close to it.

#2 San Antonio Spurs (59-23) vs. #7 Denver Nuggets (49-33) MY PICK Spurs
To be honest I'm not so sure about this one. The Spurs are considered by many the team to beat in the West but with so many injuries they've been hurting. But the Big Fundamental is back and so is Ginobili, so I think by game 7 they will be able to slightly, oh so ever slightly knock off the Nuggest who have been on a roll. But it won't be easy. I expect this series to go to 7 games more then any other.

#3 Seattle SuperSonics 3 vs. #6 Sacramento Kings 4 MY PICK: Kings
No one has faith in the Sonics even with their current record. And to be honest I don't either. But with Stojakovic and B. Miller out the Kings just aren't as good as they should be. But I've heard that they will make it by the end of the series. But will it be enough? I actually think so. I'm not a firm believe in the Sonics either. :p

#4 Dallas Mavericks (58-24) vs. #5 Houston Rockets (51-31) MY PICK: Mavs
And then there was one. The big matchup of the opening round. Blue vs. Red, Dirk/Finley vs. McGrady/Yao. This will be a good one and I definately expect it to go to 7 games. But with the Mavericks on such a role and playing better defense I think they will make it past T-Mac and co. in 7.

I'll make my all the other predictions later. Though I'd just like to add the NBA Final matchup I'd most like to see would have to be the Suns vs. the Heat (but I bet I'm definately not alone with that one)

Good night, and GOOD LUCK CELTICS :rockman:

I don't expect us to go to far but if we meet the Pistons in the second round I guarantee you we will stretch them to seven.

If we had Artest we wouldn't even be playing Boston and it'd have been a great change for Reggie to get his ring - don't think he's going to get one now. Stephen Carlos*son has huge shoes to fill next season.

And when I posted that Miller had passed West on the all-time scoring list a couple of weeks back, no-one wanted to know... heh. More concerned about whether Okafor was better than Gordon

Reggie Miller has gotten kudos his entire carreer and yeah I want him to win a ring as well but come one Okafor vs. Gordon has been the talk of the season (H) (even though there shouldn't even be a talk)

I had forgotten how brilliant this Pistons team was. They are just picking the Sixers apart 94-79, 6 minutes to go in the 4th.

What an ass rape 106-85 Pistons win and take a 1-0 series lead but then again it was expected. AI with 30 points and 10 assists but for nothing :(

Dallas vs. Houston underway :rockman:

Starting XI
My predictions:

#1 Miami Heat (59-23) vs. #8 New Jersey Nets (42-40)
Miami in 7
The Nets will play tough and cause Miami lots of trouble, but after Shaq starts to set himself down Miami will take it.

#2 Detroit Pistons (54-28) vs. #7 Philadelphia 76ers (43-39)
Detroit in 5
Detroit simply overpowers Philly.

#3 Boston Celtics (45-37) vs. #6 Indiana Pacers (44-38)
Indiana in 6
With JO coming back Indiana will be tough, also the Celtics aren't as impressive lately as they have been.

#4 Chicago Bulls (47-35) vs. #5 Washington Wizards (45-37)
Chicago in 7
I'm going with Chicago on this one. The Wizards are very good but I don't feel that the way they're performing lately can help them get past the Bulls.

#1 Phoenix Suns (62-20) vs. #8 Memphis Grizzlies (45-37)
Phoenix in 5
Memphis's offense can't match the Suns, their defence won't be enough to stop the Suns either.

#2 San Antonio Spurs (59-23) vs. #7 Denver Nuggets (49-33)
San Antonio in 6
Denver has slowed down a bit, bad timing.

#3 Seattle SuperSonics (52-30) vs. #6 Sacramento Kings (50-32)
Sacramento in 6
Both these teams are no contenders, both are struggling and I don't see them going any further. But right now I like the Kings better than the Sonics, I just don't think the Sonics have what it takes to win playoff games.

#4 Dallas Mavericks (58-24) vs. #5 Houston Rockets (51-31)
Houston in 6
All you Houston downers, just watch the Rockets kick some Mav ass! :hump:

They certainly are kicking some Mavs ass right now. It's 39-24 in the 2nd quarter and T-Mac is on fire!!

edit: 52-40 Rockets at HT

edit: 67-60 Rockets, Mavs are coming back and the crowd is back into it...

edit: Rockets eventually pulled it out, Pacers got ass raped with Pierce only scoring like 9 points I think which has basically made me change my entire opinion about the C's I don't even kno what to think about this team anymore when u see them winning so easily against a team that everyone thought was gonna be trouble. BTW I wonder how Bird felt haha sitting in the stands watching :D

Im telling you, Houston can take the Mavs easy. and I think that if they can beat Dallas, then they can beat Phoenix, but I dont think they will.

What a great game 1 between the Bulls and the Wizards. Best playoff game so far. Duhon is nearing a triple-double as well 7 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists :rockman::clapwap:

Does anyone see Sacto upseting Seattle? I know how the first game went and all, but the experience factor, I believe, could kick in.

Damnit, wish i could see that, but the tube broke a few days ago :(
If the wiz have to go down to anyone, though, i wouldnt mind it being the baby bulls. All the success theyre finally having is wonderful. And Douhon? Wow, all that big game experience at Duke maybe?

nobody's giving much attention to both these teams (their game wasnt even televised today I think), and both teams are upstarting and have a lot to offer, I like how the Wiz play

Every single playoff game is being televised either on ABC, TNT, ESPN or NBATV. And I don't know where you have been but the Baby Bulls have been getting tons of attention this season they play with so much heart it's weird to see something like that for an NBA team but that's what you get when you draft people from Duke, Kansas and UCONN who have all been greats in the college game and have been in pressure situations in the final rounds of the NCAA Tournament. If I'm in Chicago right now I look at the last 6 years and say "who the hell cares" when you look at the great young team they have now anything can happen in the coming years. What if LeBron decides that he wants to continue MJ's legacy and goes to the Bulls because he will leave that joke of a franchise that is Cleveland soon.
