The plan to tried to defend the 2-1 lead sured backfire on ancelotti, hope he learns that from now on not so do such things on a big match

really nice match. the return will be a killer. rooney's first goal came at just the right time to kill off Milan's game.

and i think we can all agree on the most useless player today. Pippo in a wheelchair is a bigger threat than Gilardino was today.

Amazing match, worthy of a final. What a football feast with fantastic players like Rooney, Ronaldo, Scholes, Kaka and Seedorf. Didn´t even notice the time fly by, have my doubts that it will happen again tomorrow :p

Another one for the "better than Messi's" pile ;)

Milan got the ball nicked off them in ManU territory, you blinked and it was already in the back of their net.

Hah, Nesta gave those extra seconds to Rooney, he surely wasn´t expecting that shot. Even so i think Getafe´s defence is better than the one United used tonight :p Getafe´s defence FTW

Did Gilardinho play? :| Didnt even notice :$

Anyway second half was superb for manu. Fletcher did a very good job to shut down milan's midfield. Now the only concern for manu is that milan scored 2 away goals which can be crucial... Hopefully ferdinand is in for the 2nd leg. Defence was very floppy today..

Amazing game. 3-2 is not the greatest result before the game, but after being 2-1 down at half, i will take it with my arms wide open. United completely killed Milan in the second half, did Milan even get a decent chance on goal there. Great game and great goals from Rooney. He really wants that revenge on Milan and tonight his determination showed.

Although, as much of you might think that Milan's tactic of defending was the turning point, i think it was Maldini and Gattuso getting injuried that really changed the game. I don't think Ancelotti could have done much there, Maldini was commanding the defense like Alexander and Gattuso was fighting for everything like a Spartan. If not for those two injuries the game could as well have been different and it might sound bad, but i'm unbelievably thankful for them because it gave us a chance. Here is to hoping that the two of them won't feature next week :(.

Should be a great game at the San Siro. Milan can't sit back and defend, so they will have to come out, while United can't sit back and defend either because they simply can't sit back and defend with a back line of O'Shea, Heinze, Brown and Fletcher (Evra suspended). So it should be a very entertaining attacking game again. Thankfully, United shine on counter-attacks.

Ah, Rooney does it! What a match, by both teams. Really entertaining. United showing very good moral by turning 1-2 to victory. And Kaká impressed a lot as well. Hopefully the second leg will be just as good.

He dissapeared in the second half though. It's amazing how much weaker Milan is down the center without Gattuso and Maldini, United were running through there like it was an open avenue. I don't think the 2nd goal would of happened with those two on the pitch. Great flick and finish by Scholes and Rooney though (Y). The third goal was great as well but I think Dida is at fault some. It was as if Rooney was shooting into an open net, that's how much space Dida left him at the near post.

I can't quite understand why Milan took their foot off the pedal in the second half or was it just Manchester imposing their will? It will be interesting to see how both sides start the match in Milan. If Milan allow themselves to be pressured like they were in the second half today they will be in a lot of trouble.

Great game, can't wait for the return leg.

PS: Giladino REALLY needs to stop diving :|(N)

Yup, exactly. United wouldn't have even dominated the game like that with those 2.

Steaua i think United third goal is 50/50 btw Dida and Nesta. Nesta gave some vital space to Rooney thinking that he would just run to the line, it was fatal with a player like Rooney.

LAWL, Gilardino's dive against Heinze was hilarious. Heinze puts both his arms up in the air showing that he ain't pushin', Gilardino clutches the back of his head and shows a face-full of agony without realizing that Heinze put his arms in the air.

Yet the referee gives it to Gila still. Hahah.

it will be better next week when we actually have some defenders back, cos milan didnt have too much that didnt come from poor defending. great result like. well wait and see what next week brings

well we sat back too much in the 2nd half and paid for it... Gattuso leaving was a huge turning point as we ended up sitting back for the last 30 mins (N) Kaka was immense in the 1st half but cant really fault him for disappearing in the 2nd since he was alone in almost all the attacks Milan generated. and dont get me started on Gilardino... I was praying for Pippo to come on for him about 10 minutes into the match :nape:

good result overall, I was actually glad Rooney got the 3rd because if he didn't we would've sat back at home, and you just cant do that against a team that can attack like United can. should be a great 2nd leg, here's praying Paolo and Gattuso are healthy and that Gilardino breaks a limb of some sort

That's true, Nesta did give him too much room to shoot it.

Hilarious? More like disgusting and a shame to the sport. He's such a f*cking pussy and it's not like he scores to make up for all the dives. Why is he at Milan?

What a game! I honestly thought United were more or less out. I just thought Milan would be too experienced to let such a lead slip. Credit to United, never write them off as I did.

Am really looking forward to the return leg.

Great game, although I really can't believe that Dida let Rooney beat him near post in stoppage time! That is an unforgivable mistake if you ask me.

Cristiano definately had some flashes of brilliance today, there was one run around the 84th minute that was particularly impressive.
