People, can we just stop talking about Ronaldo, Madrid etc... in this thread?
It's really annoying. Go and open up a thread in the Soccer Forum if you need to discuss this any further.
What tours are we doing this year? I can't remember.
Has there been any more news on which youngsters are staying?

South Africa this year, Juventus at OT and Aberdeen up there. That's all I know so far.

No news on the youngsters, but Hull are said to be working on a deal for Campbell. I expect Eagles to go though, he's hit a block in his development, he hasn't made the next step up.

Also those Brazillian twins will join us this year as well.

Latest rumour is United are leading the chase for Cardiff's Aaron Ramsey because they'll loan him back for a season - Also we're apparently in for Karim Benzema of Lyon (class player)

Also, Spurs seem to be resigned to the fact that Berbatov is moving on - could United be his destination?

Interesting article about "you know who and the Spanish club" Teamtalk think United could get Casillas. (Which would be awesome)

On the same idea, who should Fergie give the #7 to? IMO Ronaldo really doesn't deserve to wear it after this show of non loyalty. The number seven has been held by United's true legends such as Best, Robson, Cantona and yes, even Beckham.

My pick would be Wazza, he'll be our spiritual leader in the same way Cantona was. I wonder also if with Ronaldo gone (if/when) Wayne will get more of the ball during games.

Of course Nani would be a good choice too - Ronaldo's heir apparent.

Lol, that article was funny...listen, Calderon might be "a bloke who would sell his own Grandma..." but he is not a bloke who would like to get stoned in the streets of Madrid, three players currently in the Madrid Roster will never be sold and as a matter of fact have lifetime contracts....Raul, Guti and Casillas....also San Iker is not the second best in the world He proved this season he IS the best...anyway that wont happen so....yeah

Good news reported by BBC website;

Patrice Evra has agreed a new four-year contract at Manchester United worth £55,000 a week. (Daily Mail, 1312 BST)

Great if it's true - Milan were hovering apparently.

Casillas is the best. Unlike Cech, Buffon, Casillas has had a very mediocre defensive line for most of his career, if not, all of his career. he alone has saved tons of points for us that has translated into titles , including that famous CL title! Put Buffon or Cech when we had the crap defenders (Pavon, etc.) and lets see.

That's good news! Evra is a stud!

Help?

When Evra came to United, in his first interview he said that he "will sweat blood for Manchester United" and you bet he did.

Great news, I assume we'll still be loaning him back to Cardiff for the first year, but if he signs I wonder if United will take him on the tour this summer.

BTW Big interview with Sir Alex tonight on SkySports at 8pm. He talks about his future, the squad and the Cristiano situation among other things.

Also did you know United's old kit man Norman Davies died yesterday, he was kit man right up until the 1990's - MUTV announced his passing last night. A true red to the core he was.

Update on Ramsey:

Bids from United, Liverpool and Arsenal have been recieved and two clubs (Us and one other) have been granted permission to talk to him. United are still favourites to get him though.

What was said at 8pm... i forgot to watch it?

They said MUFC is closing down and moving to compete in the Malaysian league (closer to fan base etc.) and the Glazers are turning the stadium into a property development. Sorry to break the news, always sad when a club gets closed down and/ or moves, but dems da breaks of modern football fandom I guess.

Don;t worry though, as United fans it shouldn't be too difficult for you guys to move your support to Chelsea or Arsenal or whoever looks like winning something next season.

I shouldn't expect any new fans over at the Council house then (Y) By the way we were actually winning a European final this year as opposed to holding one.

Cristiano Ronaldo will make the same mistake as Nicolas Anelka if he leaves for Real Madrid, thats my 2 cents. I just don't see him doing well there because of a number of factors. In fact, I think Real Madrid would implode if Ronaldo signs for them though. I just don't understand why Ronnie won't commit to a club that has been successful for the last 2 years and won him every possible medal he could have achieved in England (2 Community Shields, 1 League Cup, 1 FA Cup, 2 League Titles and 1 CL Title). He is with a club that dearly loves him but no player is bigger than the club. If we somehow have to reluctantly sell him to Real Madrid, I hope we get Robben and Ramos in exchange.

Robben isn't as great as people thought he'd be - Personally I'd love Wesley Sneijder (sp) as part ex - His ability with a dead ball is Beckhamesque. I think Frank Ribery of Bayern Munich would be a good addition if His Lordship leaves.

Talking of Real Players I'd love to see in red: If we could somehow get Casillas (Unlikely) that would be excellent.
