WOW!! Shocking performance by Newcastle. After the first two goals I didn't know whether turn it off, or stick around and see what would happen..

I stuck around and saw ManU put six in :(.. An utter disaster

It hurts... but congrats. At least the goals were good to the eyes.

somehow rooney is still not TOP CLASS
he is way too inconsistent...
i mean wasteful..absolut wasteful in the game today
he has glimpses of class in games
but he is never consistent....and too casual at times...

I dont think i've ever seen such a domination like that. Lets be honest, it should have been alot more, if it wasn't for Taylor's 4 clearances off the line in the second half, the possibility of 1 or 2 penalties, and Rooney having a bad day finishing wise. And it could have been such a different story had Owens first half goal stood, as it should have. Some of the stuff we produced today was out of this world, and i got a bit too excited, especially considering i was sat in a pub in Newcastle watching the game!

What a GREAT match, especially the second half. Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez were fantastic! The movement, passing etc was top notch. And Carrick was like the Carrick of last season with his interceptions and passing. He and Ronaldo were the best players for us today. And I can't say it enough, but what a player we have in Ronaldo, Real can kiss their ass, cause they will never get him......Rooney had a good game, he was a bit unlucky, cause Given saved all of his efforts.

I just pissed in my pants. Beaming at that domination. Owen's goal should have stood but our second half was breathless. Ronaldo, call him what you want, genius, architect, talisman, but he is simply extraordinary. Deserved that overdue hat-trick today. But credit to the whole team. They weren't complacent. And we have completely forgot about Saha.

An orgasmic second half (H)...watta performance from the team...granted newcastle were managerless but damn, it was mesmerizing

Of course if owen's goal had stood it might have been different, the ref got it wrong...unlucky newcastle ! It could have been almost 11-0

I saw old trafford after quite some time and it looks different :rockman:...atleast the pitch !

hope we can keep this consistency and total football

This was a total trashing of NEwcastle, just great second half. 6 goals, while they should have been 10, or 8 the least (2 penalties not given!!), and considering that this was against a tougher team (drew Arsenal, Chelsea beat them with lot of luck and an offside goal), well this is hell of a performance.
I am looking forward to the CL now. This HAS to be our year.

what a devastating performance. Absolute class. We have to make sure we keep it consistent from now on. The last time we were top we blew it...now we have to keep winning games be it ugly or not. And Rooney was unlucky..he could have scored 4 or 5 goals. Hopefully he will get in the goalscoring act ASAP to boost his confidence. i am just ecstatic after that performance!

And RONALDO...what can i say. Why hes not considered best in the world is beyond me!

Well I could go into a rant about FIFA's blindness to the English game ..... The fact is Ronaldo is THE best player in the world right now.

Anyway the massacre in the second half was just amazing - old school Manchester United. I thought the referee was very poor, he missed two penalties in the first half, and Owen's goal as well. Ronaldo was singled out for some really rough treatment as well - I'm so pleased he got the hat-trick :rockman: It's nice to see us give someone a hiding this season.

And we're back on top too - as we've been saying, I hope we stay there this time.

Unfortunately I think it has to be the end of the road for Louis now, United should definitely move for a striker in the window - my preference would be Berbatov or Huntelaar. Good news about working on Patrice's deal as well.

Good weekend, long may the form continue. Perhaps West Ham was the jolt we needed.

Louis tried hard to make a career, but last season was somehow weak (only 8 goals, i think), and this one is really disappointing, as everyone expected him to step up.
I personally don't really count on him any more, so that's why the Berbatov-Villa combination seemed to be a option :D
Sure SAF will buy only 1 player, but there is one thing to be said - in case Saha remains injured and we don't buy another striker in the January transfer window, the chances for CL triumph are slowly decreasing. In the EPL no one case stop us, but in Europe it's somehow different. Last year was a very meaningful example on this difference. I hope it does not repeat again.

One think i am sure though, we don't need any midfielders, nor any defenders (besides right back, after Wes goes out next year).

It was the kind of game in which every attack results in several chances - and many were converted to goals. I'm so happy for Ronaldo, he played fantastically. I just think he should stop falling down so easily, his performance showed he doesn't need to do those kind of things.

Newcastle's defence was awful but that shouldn't take anything away from United's attack, I especially enjoyed Ronaldo's second goal and Ferdinand's goal.

I think we will win the PL but I want to see more good performances from United before I can say they will win the CL as well.

Being a Chelsea fan, I gotta say that destroying another team like that's good for morale but you can't jump ahead of yourself either. catching a team on an off day isn't gonna happen every weekend and a Villa/Berbatov combination? Don't see both of them happening, Louis Saha still has a chance with United so I wouldn't get too jumpy, I really don't think the club needs to spend any money (except on younger players obviously) at the moment.

apparently Manucho scored again for Angola today, this time against the african champions Egypt. he scored what could have been the winning goal, but then Egypt tied. the match ended 3-3.

interesting... does that make 3 goals in 3? looking good so far.

Best not get our hopes up. He could be another forlan or a new Ole

Good news on Manucho..can someone here do a Manucho-Watch and update on his progress in the African Nations Cup?

Our supposed target Klaas Jan Huntelaar scored 2 goals last weekend against AZ Alkmaar.
