Now that you've said it like that, I dont see an issue spending a large lump of that money to get great quality players NOW, looking at some of the youngsters coming up from the youth system we wont need to spend that much on transfers in the coming years anyway.Dazmania said:He has £100mill to spend over the next 5 years.
Hells yeah, I'd take either one of them any day. They both speak english and can fit into our team easier than a foreign goalkeeper.Dazmania said:come to think of it i reckon a £10mill pound bid for Paul Robinson from Spurs would be great.
or even Shay Given (best keeper in premiership imo) for £6mill would be fantastic!
What? Are you serious? Silvestre is an accident waiting to happen, partnership with Rio my behind. What is he? Gay? As soon as Rio is out, it's like he becomes stupid, no wait, becomes even more stupid. He constantly gifts the opposition oportunities, loses out on aerial challenges and overall looks lost without Rio commanding him. True great defenders dont need to rely on other defenders to cover their behind all the time, he needs to go.Dazmania said:Silvestre is too good to get rid of, him and Rio have formed a fantastic partnership.
Kleberson does great when games are slow paced and he can pass the ball all over the park, but when the tempo rises and things turn into an old fashioned English slug out, he's lost. He's too sluggish, can't tackle well and disappears from matchers. He'd be better suited to the Spanish game.Dazmania said:i think Kleberson has definately got the potential to be great, i'd give him one more season with more games, or even on loan for a season.
You can be as commited and play in as many positions you want, but it has been proven that when he and the rest of the 'backups' came in, they struggle to beat even the bottom teams. If we won the games against those 'little' teams this season we would've matched, maybe even pipped Chelsea to the title. Besides we have great other midfield prospects in David Jones and Fletcher.Dazmania said:But Phil Neville is a great utility player for United and it is always important to have players like him so commited to the club.
untouchable said:I'd also go after Joaquin, Vicente, Essien and Chivu.

That would be a damn shame really. The irony is that we have 2 fantastic young reserve talents in David Jones, who coincidently is a central midfielder and Rossi who tore the league up with his deadly finishing. Yet I dont know if they would survive in the first team because both of them are so frail, if they just gain some muscle over the summer, I'm positive they can both have positive impacts on the first team if we can't get some good players over the summer.VanTheMan said:you are tactically right untouchable but according to present situations , i don't think we'll be able to buy anone more than a goalkeeper

source - REDISSUE.JOEL GLAZER IN SECRET CARRINGTON FERGIE MEETING?
Red Issue has received a claim from elements of the Manchester Education Committee that they tracked Joel Glazer on a secret visit to Carrington on Wednesday, where he allegedly met Alex Ferguson and spent two and a half hours at the complex. Glazer, who was supposed to be at the NFL owners’ meeting in Washington DC, is said to have slipped out of the States and arrived at Carrie in a taxi direct from Ringway at about 12.15, having been picked up by an MEC tail who’d been tipped off by their allies in Washington. Joel was supposedly seen entering a meeting room with the Boss, leaving the complex at about 3pm, whereupon he headed straight for the airport. Joel, who was not seen in Washington all day, finally emerged for a picture shoot with Malcolm and Bryan in the US capital at 8.30pm local time, when the AP agency snapped him. Thus the impression was created that Joel, who had attended an NFL dinner on Tuesday night, had never been away. It is assumed Joel was responding to Fergie’s ultimatum that, as he was off on his hols on June 1st, they’d have to get their arses in gear if they wanted to talk turkey before the summer transfer season kicks off. United and David Gill are stating that “our position is no meeting between Gill and Glazer took place” and claim that Gill was at a board meeting in London. Intriguingly, the Daily Star’s veteran United hack Bill Thornton did run a story on Tuesday claiming that a Fergie-Glazer meeting would take place the next day, having been tipped off that Fergie had been called back from a Scottish trip for an ‘important meeting’ at OT. After his story appeared, Glazer’s PR people briefed that it was a load of bollocks and said that any such meeting might be deemed improper because we are still technically in an Offer Period. Ahem: quite. Presumably Fergie and Glazer, if they met, would have discussed transfer budgets and targets – it would therefore be no surprise that 48 hours later United released their list of players who would be let go, which shockingly included Roy Carroll, whose agent was confidently predicting on Monday that Roy would be signing a new deal. There may be some more about all this in a Sunday paper tomorrow and the MEC is expected to release a statement building upon this surveillance operation before Monday’s Apollo meeting.
