Saha is still out for a few weeks I think, he hasn't return to training yet.

But I heard Rooney could be on the bench for the liverpool game.

RVN and Rooney are different players. RVN is an out and out goal scorer, in the box, gettin your tap ins, loose balls, headers etc.

Rooney sits more behind the front man, linking up the play, but also scoring goals

There was a lot of speculation about torres, with man united scouts still being spotted at athletico games, maybe fergie is looking to bring him in in the next couple of years as a long term RVN replacement.

not sure how torres playing. he certainly not impress me during euro2004.

I said three good years , as in three more years at his peak , he will be 31 then , so his performances may decline.
Rooney and Torres would be a good combo , but I dont think well will need another striker any time soon.

Wayne Rooney could make the bench for Manchester United's Monday night clash with Liverpool - live on Sky Sports 1.

The England international is making good progress with his injured foot he sustained at Euro 2004.

Rooney was not expected to be back in action until some time next month, but he is making a quicker than expected recovery.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will wait until the last minute before deciding whether or not to include Rooney.

"Rooney is training," said Ferguson. "But we can't do anything until he goes before the medics on Monday morning."

United are already set to be boosted by the return of Rio Ferdinand after his eight-month suspension and the availability of Rooney would be an extra bonus.
