IMO i don't think we need a creative mid. Having 10-15 shots a game is not creative enough? What we need is someone with good finishing. We miss too many good chances, that's why we need Ruud back to put those easy chances away.

As for Rooney, i don't understand you guys. first you all ask for a big name signing and complain about how United are being too cheap in transfer market, but when we really need someone and we do need a 4th striker, you say that we shouldn't buy him, because the price is too high. Maybe it will be higher in 3-5 years? Some of you even said that we overpaid for Ronaldo, however everyone now thinks that we underpaid.

It's because there are maybe better strikers than Wayne out there. I was all for "fvck rooney" lets get someone else, but now I see maybe we do need Rooney. Smith and Saha are great, and Ruud is class, but maybe that one extra striker may prove vital when we are hit with injuries, or bad form.

Most Man Utd fans are probably dismayed at throwing 30m for Rooney, and its justifiable to be angry, but if Ferguson brings in a foreign import now, he may not adapt to EPL and may flop.

I feel like this season is like watching a disaster happen in slow motion - It really doesn't help seeing the Arse playing like Madrid and being hailed "as the Immortals" every five minutes either.

And of course there's no sympathy from the media either. As a United fan it's clearly a case of "win and we win alone - lose and everybody laughs at you!"

Well, two weeks break (hopefully everyone can negotiate the internationals without injury) and then a nice friendly match with our loveable neighbours Bolton at the Reebok - before a serene afternoon at Old Trafford with our old friends Mr S Gerrard and co :D And of course Rio will be back for that one! Ruud however is said to be out till October :(

Never dull being a Red Devil is it!

Hey guys, I'm reading your topic often but I never did respond until now. I'd like to speak out some things, some of you maybe like and other's don't.

the new UEFA rule (coming quite soon)

squad size max 25 players, 8 must be from the country the club is from. If we can get a talented englishman = buy him (Rooney)
he's young and gifted and can improve at United even more

United's left sided problem

a lot are saying we need a left sided winger to put pressure on Giggs, people do you forget that Ronaldo played on the left wing more than he did on the right before he joined United ? what about Richardson, give him some games, he just needs some games.

What United needs is:

more chefs, like Cantona,Schmeichel, Becks, like Gerrard, Viera
notthing against some more or less talented United players we have - but even youn and talented players need expirience by their side. at this point United has only Gary, Keano and Smithy that are real pullers.

SAF

he's almost a perfect manager, evrything is good except he can't admit his errors or mistakes (who doesn't do them?)

Yea, but Djemba Djemba sucks ass...
Djemba-Djemba is a typical player who got the strenght and the skill but simply don`t have the brain. Sometimes he kills off the tempo with his slow, inconsistent and confusin` passin`. It is as if his head is not in the match, it`s like he is enjoyin` himself. He got exceptional tackles but once he got the ball, he can`t deliver it fast enough to make a counter attack.

Next time we wanna sign a strong guy, we better make sure that he got at least a modest IQ . . .

Exactly... most of the time he seems clueless with the ball.... he'll just stand there until everyone is closed down before he passes it to the opposition.. so frustrating to watch... especially when on the break...and man utd are behind...

hmm I haven't been here for long time [holidays :crazyboy: ]...

First of all, MU - Everton... I saw this match. ManUtd played good, but without Ruud we can't score any goals :/ Furthermore, they were two penalties for Everton, ehhh Silvestre :/

Second - Rooney in MU. The Sun wrote, that Roonaldo will join Manchester today at 5 pm [Greenwich time]. Hmmm I will be pleased if it's true!

cheers

United are going after the wrong scouser.
I think Steven Gerrard is the player we really need. his passing is incredible , he carries liverpool nearly every game. Are midfield been poor this season. I think the money to be spent on Rooney would be much better spent on gerrard , with his quality passing he would create much better chances for our strikers to score from

yesterday night i have a little chat with houston and i told him my opinion. i saw giggs and scholes their performance seems dropping. scholes are no logger like 3 years ago. his performance seems dropping dramatically after the injury last year. giggs is getting old and he no longer like 99, sprinting and break the defend like ronaldo did nowadays.

are we really need to find the replacement for giggs and scholes? only kleberson in the team that able become a play maker are not enough. van der vaart could be right choice, he can play at center or behind striker (scholes position) and also can become a winger (giggs position and he is left foot).

with rooney arrived, i think we should loan bellion. he still looking shaky after a season and is obviously he not enough experience. we should loan him let him get more regular first team football. i believe he can develop as a good forward.

djemba-djemba typical player like hans said but simply can't read the game. i'm same like you guys when counter attack, he just pass the ball when opponent team defend is closing down :crazyboy: is it phil neville can replace him at center while keane is injured? he did well at season 02/03 as a CDM while keane is out that time. is the same situation, why not we give him a chance. he is a good player and at least he have more experiences that djemba-djemba

On a sidenote:

"Former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan scored on his debut for Villarreal."

So how long did we have to wait for his first goal again??
