First of all its The Sun, so that makes the story void. Second of all they are using quotes from different statements to make it sound like hed like to go to Chelsea. Third of all he has about 4 years left on his contract. Fourth and finally Chelsea would have to pay a lot of money to get him away from Old Trafford, if it did come to that a replacement could be signed for the money they paid.

Help?

Players at United don't chose to leave, if the manager doesn't want them to leave. For the past decade and a half, United sold players that they did not need, players that asked to be sold and they wouldn't make it to the starting line-up anyways and those that Fergie wanted out. If Ronaldo would have really decided that he wants to leave for Chelsea, he would have to make a nice little trip to Fergie's office with Keane of coarse, god knows what would happen in that office, but there would be only one outcome (Chelsea=No Ronaldo).

Yes the story is stupid and made by the Sun, therefore it's nothing to worry about, however Ronaldo is not a United fan but he likes it there and in a year or two he will get the wage rise to the level of other big stars.

lol, just read the story. The Sun is saying that we would get 30 million pounds. Man for 30 million pounds we should sell him and not rethink. For 30 million would could get a damn nice midfielder that is not too old and in the same age range.

Manchester United remain the world's richest club in terms of income - but Chelsea are closing the gap, according to a new report.
United top the list with an income of £171.5m for the 2003-04 season, with Real Madrid second, AC Milan third and Chelsea up from 10th to fourth.

ANNUAL INCOME FOR 2003-04

1 Man Utd £171.5m
2 Real Madrid £156.3m
3 AC Milan £147.2m
4 Chelsea £143.7m
5 Juventus £142.4m
6 Arsenal £115m
7 Barcelona £110.1m
8 Inter Milan £110.3m
9 Bayern Munich £110.1m
10 Liverpool £92.3m

Well that's one table we are on top on!

i don't think fletcher is so essential for us, its true, 7 weeks of injury is bad, but i mean, he's usually a sub, besides, kleberson will prolly play, and man utd will prolly buy some players in the summer...

if we compare us to milan, i think a big difference is that milan has more players, they can fix their squad, we haven't enough, IMO
Fletcher's injury is definitely our loss :( but now we should give Klebo a chance. He is a good, skillful player. I dont want to see him end his days here like Djemba-Djemba.

Wow The Sun, im sure the story has some credibility then  . First of all, although the fact that Mourinho is portuguese and knows him well can be worrying, you must remember that Manchester United has also Queiroz in their ranks, who can be a positive influence. Second, i doubt that Ferguson would even consider selling him and im pretty sure that he has high hopes on the Ronaldo and Rooney duo for the future. Third, Ronaldo is already in a big english club. If he wants a change of scenario, he will prolly go to Spain or Italy.
This is just some atempt by The Sun to destabilize United who is experiencing a great run of results, i wouldn´t worry much about these rumours. We would surely have some echoes here in Portugal if that was true.
Changing the subject, those Ronaldo pics are just dreadful :kader: . I can understand one or two pontual publicity stunts but when it reachs Beckham level, someone should try to control him. He should focus on his football, too many distractions right now (contract talks, publicity stunts etc ), the Milan tie is just ahead, next week.

Ruud: 'United for life'

Ruud van Nistelrooy has indicated he would love to spend the rest of his career at Old Trafford.
The Manchester United striker is in line to return to the side for the first time since November on Saturday in the FA Cup against Everton after recovering from an Achilles injury.

Van Nistelrooy says he has has been devoted to the club since the day he joined from PSV Eindhoven in a £19million move.

'I feel at home in a place with such strong traditions. I don't see why I shouldn't spend the rest of my playing days here,' he said.

'The moment I signed my five-year contract, the chairman at the time, Martin Edwards, took me to the boardroom where a directors' meeting was in progress.

'`Gentlemen,' he said when he opened the door, `may I present to you our new centre-forward, Ruud Van Nistelrooy.' They all stood and congratulated me.

'I shook hands with all of them, Sir Bobby Charlton last of all. When he said: `Glad you're finally here, son', I got goose bumps all over my body.'

Van Nistelrooy remains overwhelmed at the size of the club and the scale of their fan base.

'When I drive down the road to Old Trafford, between two church towers in the distance, I can already see the two biggest stands. When I close my eyes, I can recall that mental picture no matter where I am,' he told Soccer Digest magazine.

'I turn into Sir Matt Busby Way and cross the square full of fans. Whenever a player's car passes, the square bubbles with excitement.

'People faint just because they'd seen a Manchester United player in the flesh.

'I saw life-size posters of myself in newspapers and I had not even played a single game for the club.

'The size of this club is incomprehensible.'

Despite having a phenomonal scoring record for United - 122 goals, 36 of them in 37 European appearances - Van Nistelrooy refuses to rest on his laurels.

'Giving less then 100 per cent is not really an option for me, ' he said.

'As the years have gone by, I have started to take football more and more seriously. I try to do the maximum for every match.

'I work hard, I train hard and I prepare myself in detail for every game.

'I do everything to create the perfect circumstances to perform as well as possible.

'I have that same drive every time. I never for a minute think things will happen naturally.

'Nothing comes naturally to me. I do not belong in that exceptional class of player that can operate occasionally at less than 100 per cent. I know I would not get away with that.'

Van Nistelrooy credits Dutch master Ruud Gullit for improving his game.

'When I was younger, I tended to want to score beautiful goals,' he said.

'But a funny thing happened. Ruud Gullit did his coaching apprenticeship at one of my former clubs, Heerenveen, when I was playing there.

'I remember lobbing a shot that hit the crossbar and proudly looked at Gullit: `Nice one, eh?'

'All he said was: `It certainly was nice, but it should have gone in.' Although it was simple, he was right - he was absolutely right.'

Nice, very nice. Ruud van Nistelrooy is well on his way to being a legendary figure in our club's history (statistically, he's already there)- and I for one am delighted at his commitment and understanding of our club and it's traditions.

As for Cristiano, I want to believe these stories are rubbish, but he is walking a dangerous line in claiming publicly that United have agreed to up his wages, when in fact they haven't. I hope this is either a misquote on his part or designed to indicate to the board and media his willingness to stay at united - in case Chelski try to tap him up (or the London based gutter press do it for them)

In which case I sincerely hope that Man Utd and Ronaldo take legal action for these barefaced lies that these papers decide to print.

And people say we United fans imagine the Anti-United sentiment around the country!
