The Man City game would be the real test... If they win that game by a big margin I'd be very worried. I hope they get overconfident and lose points. I'm hoping for a draw for them because I want both Chelsea and Man City to lose points.

The flip side of that is if man city win, they will be going on for ages how good they are lol. Lets hope for a draw.

First, what a performance by Berbs. It's amazing that all of a sudden he's a goal-scorer now. The second goal will surely go down as the goal of the year in England.

We have a defensive problem, obviously. Dumb fouls by Evans and O'Shea. But the thing that bothered me the most was stupid Fletcher on Gerrard's goal. What is Fletcher doing moving away from the wall on that free kick? What's the point in forming a wall if you're going to break off like that? If he had stayed where he was supposed to be that ball would've hit him in the chest, instead he moves for some reason and gives Gerrard a direct alley to an open net.

Also, what was Torres doing trying to mark Berbs on his first goal? That was pathetic.

Help?

Yeah Chelsea got some real easy games to kickoff their season. I think their next 3 games will be tough, so hopefully some dropped points there, although we can drop points anywhere too it seems. Great for Berbatov, he really stepped up the pace of his game and now adapting more to United's quick style of play.

Okay, this bothers me.

Idiot Ferguson bashing Torres claiming that he made a meal out of the foul from O'Shea and was trying to get him sent off.

But he makes no mention of Nani flopping like a bitch the entire game.

Ferguson should be more worried about trying to buy some defenders in January and teaching Fletcher how to operate as part of a wall, and he shouldn't bash opposing players for flopping when one of his own players does it every 10 minutes.

And YOU should stop bashing Ferguson for every single petty thing he says. Seriously who cares about what he said on Torres?

He represents United so pretty much all United supporters should care about what he says.

I do not like the idea of our manager bashing opposing players when our own players are doing the same thing he is bashing the opposing players for.

I know but these are petty matters to me. Things that I tend to ignore.

That playacting/diving from Nani is something new to him. He doesn't usually do that very often. Did he talk to Ronaldo over the phone or something?

I agree.. I was quite surprised at the way nani was falling all over the pitch. He does not usually do that. I hope its a one-off.

Decent game....Gibson and Ando dominated in midfield. Quite impressed with Smalling, a young version of Rio, cool on the ball and he scores goals aswell. Bebe had a good impact, strong runs going forward....

You'd better behave yourself this time!
Ya I Agree ladylover
Bebe's runs were pretty strong, the kinda runs that defenders wouldnt stick their legs inbetween due to his pace and strength so he would just keep going on and on..

Smalling had an amazing game..

I was just disappointed with javier's performance..apart from that good cameo in the shield, he hasnt looked quality by any means..of course he plays for united so he will be hyped..
but maybe I guess, fergie needs to find the right place to play him and the right PARTNER upfront.

Macheda's touches are really great. His ball control is amazingly well.

Good game...

I wanted to watch this game but unfortunately Fox Soccer Channel wasn't airing it. Good to hear the boys played well, I guess, but Carling Cup is Mickey Mouse stuff and I would play our kids in each match to save our important players for EPL and CL.

Ferguson were in Mestalla watching de Gea, awesome GK , would love to see him in Old Trafford.

He wasn't there only for him, our next game in the CL is against Valencia, that is mostly the reason why he was there.....

Eric Steele, our GK coach was also there.

One 10 minute appearance on the pitch and he'll by flying back to the states for more surgery.

The poor guy might as well just retire.

hahaha.

I think Fergie said that probably to boost Hargreaves's morale. He was having some "confidence problems" wasn't he.

I think its harsh to judge hernandez right away. He needs time to adapt to the english culture and the physical style of play. There were number of times where he was bullied out of possession. All these will go down as good experience for him. HE will learn. He has got the quality. Also, our midfielders are not making use of his clever runs. I am not worried at all. I am prepared to wait a season for javier to come good.

If I'm worried about any striker right now it's certainly not Chicharito, it's Rooney. He is playing like crap and he's starting to act like a baby again, in the last game he was whining and bitching to the ref every couple minutes, it was very annoying. Just shut up and play.
