Rooney's injured as well and should be rested. I think he can make it but its gonna be risky and considering his poor form of late, he wouldn't do much anyway.

Brown - Vidic - Ferdinand - Evra
Nani - Anderson - Fletcher - Park
Berbatov - Owen​

Brown is our best RB IMO. Yes Brown. O'Shea is definitely not better and Rafael is not good enough with the defensive work. And Neville should retire.

EDIT: I chose Owen for his experience and he's scored 3 goals in the last 2 games. Chicharito or Macheda need more games before they can start in such an important game.

Honestly, I don't think it's that big of a game.

Looking at the group...Bursapor has no chance obviously, and I think Valencia will beat Rangers twice. As long as we don't completely screw things up, we should get through with ease.

I think we're gonna lose on Wednesday to be honest, Valencia have been playing well (1st place in La Liga right now!) and given our poor form as of late and the difficulty of going into the Mestalla, I would be VERY content with a draw in this one.

I guess I'd be alright with Owen starting the match. Either him or Chicharito anyway...Rooney needs to get his mind right before he plays again.

I'm with Nady on the defense, I want O'Shea and Evans off the field, they both suck. But I think Fletcher needs to sit also, he has been garbage. What ever happened to Carrick, is he hurt? I think I've seen him play once this season.

I agree with you about getting especially Evans off the pitch. His defensive mistakes are just to silly. Stick Smalling in there and give it a try, cause Evans hasn't been good lately, whiles Smalling has been good in the games he had played for us.

The role seems to have turned, where we could rely on our defence and scoring goals was difficult, it is now the other way around.

Carrick was injured the last couple of weeks, he has been training again though.

Maybe by some miracle Hargreaves will actually really return soon, and be the rock solid holding midfielder that he used to be. And maybe Anderson will come back, stay healthy and be more of a Ronaldinho-like attacking midfielder and learn to run the game like Scholes had been in the first few matches this year.

A very boring game, but a much needed win. The defence was very good, with a special mention to Rafael, whom played a great game. What a comback from Carrick aswell, he protected the back four very well, he was a little bit unlucky with his passing though. Nani had Mathieu in his back pocket, the defender didn't now how to handle him through out the game. Great short cameo from Macheda and Hernandez, whom together with Nani set-up the goal.

Happy to see Anderson back aswell, had a lot of good moments, but considering his fitness he wasn't fully capable of finding a rhythm

our defence is good with rio in it

what only seems the prob is the right midfield cover for the defence...

good to see macheda getting more gametime...
he has great control and vision
chicha's goal was clinical..

berba worked his socks off..looks gr8 this season..

Overall we played poorly. Very sloppy in our passing. The only bright spot really was the goal, which was superb. What a perfect first touch by Chicharito to put the ball right where it was needed, and a very cool finish.

Defensively, nobody stuck out in my mind as either good or bad...they were all simply adequate.

Fletcher was crap again, Carrick was horrible, Park didn't do anything worth noting, Anderson was trying but didn't really amount to anything. Nani was fine, I guess.

It's a good result because I didn't really expect us to get anything out of it, and I'm glad Chicharito finally made a real impact. I'd line him up with Berbs at the weekend.

Thats what happens when Ferdinand plays. The whole defense is organised no matter who plays. Even Rafael or O'Shea. Defense has been solid especially Ferdinand and Vidic with Rafael doing a good job as well. Evra has been crap as he has been in every match so far this season.

I haven't watched the first half thanks to work but from what I've seen, it was a decent game. We let them have a lot of crosses in but our defense was dealing with them very well. We haven't created much in attack but Berbs and Nani were class. Nani has been very consistent this season. I'd even go and say he's been our most consistent player this season. He has been involved in more than half of all our goals this season hasn't he.

Fergie made the right subs. Macheda combining beartifully with Chicharito on that goal. That guy is gonna be very helpful as a supersub. Only worry for him is that he struggles a lot against physical sides. Besides that goal, he made a perfectly timed run and connected very well to Nani's lobbed pass. Unfortunately he didn't have much support in attact at this instant.

I wouldn't start with Chicharito TBH. He's more a guy who's gonna make an impact as a supersub... Not as a starter. I'd start with Berbs and Owen on Saturday. Owen has been in good form scoring 3 in the last 2.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Chicharito's shot which the post. Again displaying real striker's instincts.

I think some of our players are yet to hit form. Park and fletch normally put in good shifts but so far this season they have been dire. Evra needs to sort out his form too. Anyway, it was a vital win. Pleased for hernandez. No doubting his finishing abilities. He needs to work on holding the ball up and bulk up abit. Gets shrugged off the ball easily at times. Berbatov was great again albeit the limited service. His dribbles,his flicks,his runs are so elegant.

oh and Martin tyler should be banned from commenting on manutd games. He spouts rubbish about manutd like none other.

Only 7 games into the season and not only have we already dropped points 4 times, but they have all been to subpar teams.

I guess the silver lining is we still haven't lost a game, but 8 points dropped is still 8 points dropped in the end.

I am surely starting to doubt Fergie's team selections this year
too much of tinkering. it trully sucks because you need your main players to play game in game out.
Sunderland aint an easy team that Fergie rests our in form player Berbatov.

These guys have played 3 games a week even before..
its nt the end of season period when they are jaded
sick decision by fergie, cause for the first 30 minutes we looked clueless..


To top it..in his post game interview, Fergie says : he is SATISFIED..
wtf? i mean since when did this start happening?

last weekend was a chance to catch up to the eladers
this week che play arsenal so we know they may drop points..so gaining 3 points n putting the pressure was required..

some of our players also look totally out of form or too ordinary at times...

this season may really end up dissapointing if such continues
