Shallke is probably our next opponent. Although that match may look easy on paper but we always had trouble against Germans, Dortmund, Bayern and Leverkusen.

If we are a true champion we should be able to defeat world’s best team which is by far Barca.

IF United does make it to the final, I have more confidence in beating Barca than Real. Sure we got outplayed by them 2 years ago, but the circumstances were different. We were missing our midfield rock (Fletcher) and our only attacking threat was through Ronaldo (Rooney and Tevez were relegated to do the hustling and running, rather than scoring by that point in the season). This time we got Hernandez keeping defenders on their toes, Rooney commanding the attack better and better by the day and both Valencia and Nani providing creative spark on the wings. Not to mention Ryan Giggs supplying the attack with great passes.

To me it seems everybody is writing off Real, understandably but as we learned don't write Mourinho off either. He's got tricks.


The thing I am liking so far is that the team looks and sounds much more mature than in previous years. Its like Fergie discovered "efficiency". We take care of what's required and then worry of what would be nice, whereas in previous season United would always be talking about what would be nice.

Im pretty sure that it would be Barca in the final because Real have many problems in case of suspensions. Important players on yellow cards and I don't really expect a miracle to happen and no one getting suspended from Real. Ronaldo is on a yellow too.

Defenders don't make much of a difference at Barca anyway. The strength lie in your midfield and the other team rarely get to go past your midfield.

Nady u got this one wrong. The first leg against Shakhtar Luiz Adriano had superb chances but couldn't take advantage of any of them. Its a bad theory that Barca don't need solid defenders because of the excellence in midfield.

Depends on games and form I guess. Most of the time I've seen Barca play, the ball hardly gets into their half.

I'm not saying that "Barca don't need solid defenders because of the excellence in midfield." I'm just saying that Barca won't be screwed if they're missing key defenders. Missing a key forward like Messi or Iniesta or Xavi would be much more disastrous. They base their game on possession and attack. Not defense.

Yeah, you’re right. I don’t like him anymore and it would be so frustrating to watch him against United. Those flips and magics used to be in United favor.
Anyway, I think Barca will hammer them but it's too soon to talk about final right now.

Yes I understood mate what u meant. But u know loosing Puyol is is risky because he covers up Pique's weaknesses. Remember the first leg at the Emirates against us??? One lapse in concentration cost them that game really. RVP's equalised and we gained confidence then the second followed. If Puyol was there it might not have happened. Its like you know a big gap which seems little. Sometimes presence is good enough specially when its the leader. But yeah if Messi and Iniesta are at their best it may just cover it.

Common guys, haven't we learned from the past 3 years that manutd.com is ALWAYS the first website to announce a signing of the player. If its not there then its not done.

BTW Van Der Sar ran 5,176 meters on Tuesday, while Torres ran 5,112 meters. (although Torres did play half as much but still)

Forgot to mention we're playing Shalke in the UCL semis. I don't wanna underestimate Shalke but it is fair to say that we are favorites for this game and if we get past Shalke, we'll play Real Madrid or Barcelona in the UCL final. Thats gonna be an exciting one! If it happens of course. Can't wait. I hope we play Madrid because Barca will be very tough. Everything is possible with Man United though.

We should be able to beat City, but they have an extra day on us and Barry and De Jong didn't even play against Liverpool. Plus with such historic nights like Tuesday there is always a danger of a hangover. Just hope the boys stayontheirfeet and fully focused.
