I doubt anything will be confirmed today. On the Strootman front, I've only heard PSV say they want to keep him and otherwise unreliable sources reporting interest. Garay was also a strange one because I haven't heard too much about it, but there must have been something since United's stocks fell sharply a few weeks ago due to the fact that people expected United to pay about 17m for him the next day.
I'm not optimistic with Thiago, reminds me too much of Lucas, Benzema, Ronaldinho etc.

Wow, that pretty much means it's a done deal. I'm going to see Estonia vs Netherlands in few months, I'll give my best to get Strootman to sign for United when I'll see him. Taking requests too, just PM me the names of dutch players you want to see at your club and I'll get their signatures for it.

Ferdinand and Vidic wont/shouldnt be first choice centre back pairing, even if Vidic stays at the club (and there are strong rumours he wont) - this is the season where Phil Jones should be first choice and the other spot to be either on of the old guys or Evans/Smalling. Though I still think you need one more CB to be on the safe side, mainly because I am still highly suspicious of Evans.

Vidic is still one of the best defenders around. People think he's past it because he was not on good form following the injury he had. Vidic was solid towards the end of the season. Ferdinand is the one who is becoming more inconsistent. Vidic still has 2-3 years at the top unless he gets injured again.

He's still got talent but a) he is injury prone and this has made him a little more nervous in the tackle, he is no longer the fearless killing machine he used to be b) he has lost some pace and, whilst he was never reliant on pace, there are so many fast guys at the top clubs now that he could get skinned by the likes of Bale or Navas. Let him go to Italy where he can still play at the top level for years to come and use the money to bring in a replacement. Ferdinand is also very inconsistent now and becoming annoying by constantly getting into twitter trouble - wants to be centre of attention and now he cant do that on the pitch, he does it off it.
